chapter twenty-six

- 3 months later -

3 months without him.

without dad.

katrina still cannot believe it. he's gone, he's really gone. while he was trying to help save the world, she was the one trying to fucking end it.

im so pathetic.

he's probably so disappointed in me right now.

some daughter i am.

she sits in the cabin, staring at an old photo of her and hopper, smiling to herself. she remembers that day like it was yesterday.

the day he took her to the zoo with jonathan.

oh what a day that was.

the others are all outside, giving her some time. though, she's still going to be living in the cabin but not alone.

"that's everything," billy said with a groan, stepping into the house with two boxes in hand.

"you seriously don't need to do this, billy," katrina grabbed the box from him, placing it on the ground, "you can go back to california with max, like you wanted to."

"no," he shook his head, "she doesn't want to leave and neither do i. i have a reason to stay now."

the girl blushed and the two began leaning in but were interrupted by steve, jonathan, nancy, lucas and dustin all carrying in a mattress with max behind them, smiling.

"hold that side dustin!" steve yelled, nearly dropping the damn mattress.

"i am steve!"

"it's falling!"

"i got it!" katrina held out her hand, the mattress now floating in the air. she directed it into elevens old room and placed it down.

"couldn't have thought of that before, katrina?" steve sassed as he walked past her and billy.

"watch your mouth harrington!" billy yelled after to him.

"hey, stop yelling," katrina calmed the cali boy down and he sighed, "im sorry, the asshole gets on my nerves."

"he gets on mine too." she smiled.
