"We're coming to meet you guys...." Luciano's voice tapered off. "I'm sorry for what happened to Blue. He'll make it, he's strong."

I couldn't bring myself to reply which to some would taken as a sign of weakness. I also couldn't bring myself to care. The sight in front of me was enough to highlight my priorities at the moment. Milo was curled against the lifeless body of Blue as a dull beep sounded throughout the room. I couldn't tear my eyes from the amount of wires connected to Blue's body, keeping him on this plane of existence. With Blue's face fully clean I could see the true wounds he suffered. The worst was a long gash running down the left side of his face. Luckily, not much was broken except for one of his ribs. Yet, the doctors couldn't wake him up from his seemingly eternal slumber.

"See you soon." Luciano responded quietly after a moment of my silence.

         I sighed deeply.

My father was on his way as well. Him, Luciano, and Qiang were the only ones who knew our location. But even that felt like a risk, I felt a wild wolf protecting my injured and vulnerable family. Everyone felt like a risk. Currently we were in the French country side near the sea. I had a friend who offered me asylum and a team of doctors until Blue was healed enough to make it to New York.

Which I hoped would be soon. Besides Italy, New York was the safest place we could be. But obviously that didn't last very long. Everyone was scrambling to figure out who had committed Antonio's murder and who had come for me. Now that he was dead I was the only one stopping someone from taking over our post of the Mafia.

Francis told me to stay in the room next to Blue's and rest. Over my dead body. Nobody was to be trusted. And as I stared at Blue I wondered if he could at least hear the soft words I spoke to him.

Everything around me was black, like a thick empty existence I could only trudge through. No matter how many times I tried to escape, I couldn't. And it felt that way for what seemed like eternity. That was until a voice spoke out to me.
