Santiago stilled as my lips pressed against his, sending fear through my body. I pulled away,  my eyes widened in regret.

"I'm sorry- " I started the words tumbling out of my mouth.

My words were cut off as Santiago kissed me roughly, one of his hands grabbing my waist and the other the back of my neck. He immediately took control of the kiss, but the pace was still slow. Like he was trying to draw me in. His lips were warm and tasted like cinnamon. A bit of confusion invaded my senses when I felt his hands move down to the underneath of my thighs. A second later he was lifting me up and moving us forwards, until my back was pressed onto a wall.

Our breathing began to grow heavier as we refused to part from one another. And I could feel something undeniable against my thigh. His mouth finally moved away from mine allowing me to catch my breath. The air felt even colder in my lungs that had been deprived of it. Santiago moved down to my neck, sucking a harsh mark onto the side of my neck. I choked down a noise as I felt his teeth scrape against the sensitive skin. All of this gave me a sense of deja vu that hung above my head like a cloud. I couldn't ignore it, and I guess by Santiago's next words he couldn't either.

He pulled away from my neck, having left a trail of darkly colored bruises. "You don't know how long I've been waiting for this. Ever since that night." He stared into my eyes deeply, watching for my reaction.

The shock I felt in that moment couldn't be replicated. My eyes widened and my stomach turned painfully. I couldn't exactly explain the emotion I was feeling. "What?" My voice cracked on the word, breaking in the middle.

I had gone a year with the belief that he didn't remember, that we had drunk so much he couldn't possibly. I wouldn't have remembered it if I didn't wake up with him laying next to me. So instead I left his apartment without a word and let that night fade into the past, a ghost of a memory. Well that was until I walked into that forsaken office to see that same man. The man that would now be my boss. That came with problems within itself, he was dangerous. I would hear stories about him, ones that sent chills down my spine. I would never know if they were true, but I didn't care. I swore to never talk to him, to never give him a chance to remember out of fear that he'd kill me if he did.

"I thought you didn't remember..." I shifted uncomfortably until he let me down.

Santiago suddenly looked nervous, like he didn't know what to say. "I didn't at first, I didn't mention it because I thought you didn't want me to. You acted like you hated me."

      My mouth opened and closed.

"I did." I breathed out, saying the words with ease.

A smile broke onto Santiago's face. I shifted in my position, not sure what to do now. Maybe that wasn't the right thing to say. But he's smiling... thats good, right?
