As Dawnfeather guided Rain to her new home, Dawnfeather looked at her.
"You don't have to do this....you can't do this. Aren't you worried about your mother? Or Icepaw" Dawnfeather asked Rain.
"I thought I made this clear," snapped Rain, "I don't belong in the forest! I'd rather live with a housefolk than die against impossible odds."
"You'd do it to protect your clan! Don't you have anything to say about that?! You're acting like a mouse-brain!" Dawnfeather hissed, "Right now if you enter the kittypet place you'll be betraying your clan! Your family!"
"Leave me alone!" snarled Rain, "I know what i'm doing! I don't need them anymore! They helped me when I couldn't help myself and now I can have someone else take care of me! But this time I would have warmth! And easy food!"
Dawnfeather stopped trying. She knew she wouldn't be able to get through the selfish apprentice.
As the two cats arrived at the twoleg home, Rain jumped onto the thick fence and said nothing. Rain stared at Dawnfeather knowing she would never see her again, at least not peacefully.
"Tell my mother I love her....." Rain whispered as she looked away.
"I'd rather not" Dawnfeather hissed as Rain walked to the doorstep.
Dawnfeather saw the glee in Rain's eyes as the twoleg picked her up and carried her inside. Dawnfeather however, had a disgust look on her face, as she had just witnessed betrayal.
