Katrina's POV

I was led to a room as a staff member spoke to me. "We didn't have any open dorms so you'll be rooming with two other girls. I'll let them introduce themselves." He said. "Also, here....." He said, shivering. He handed me my pet snake. "Shit I totally forgot. I'm so sorry." I said, taking him from his hands. I had a Ball Bython. Such a beautiful snake. His name was Draco. He protected me.

I held him as he wrapped his tail around my hand, looking for warmth again. The staff member opened the door, to reveal two girls. One side of the room was decorated like rainbow shit and one was a black, funeral vibe. The girl on the colourful side stood up and walked over. "Howdy, roomie." She said. She was a blonde, with the tips of her hair died blue and pink. I scrunched my nose slightly at all the colour.

The other girl spoke. "Enid, I'm sure no one wants to hear you say howdy." Her voice was monotone." The girl who I know know is Enid, greeted me again. "Welcome to Ophelia Hall!" She opened her arms and I knew this wasn't going to end well. She leaned in for a hug as I stepped back and Draco lurched forward, hissing at her. He didn't bite, not unless it was necessary. "YOU HAVE A SNAKE?! WHAT THE FREAK?!" She screamed and fell back onto the floor.

I couldn't hold my laughter in anymore. I burst out laughing and cackled. "Oh, yes! His name is Draco." I continued laughing as Draco recoiled and wrapped himself around my hand again. I placed a lil smooch on top of his head as he settled in. I used my unoccupied hand to wipe a tear from my eye. It slipped out while I was laughing. The other girl, who I'm assuming heard everything that just happened, got up from what looked to be a typewriter.

She cautiously came over to me. "Don't hug me, I swear to God I'll snap your neck in half." She looked at me with no expression. "I would liked to see you try." She said. "Is that a challenge?" I responded quickly, raising one eyebrow. I heard a voice from behind say, "I'll leave you to...that." And I heard the door close quickly. "Maybe it is." She said.

"Hmm. I may just have to prepare, then." I replied. She looked at Draco. "Is he a Ball Python?" She said as she examined him. "Yep, usually people can't tell." I said. She stared at him. She lifted her hand up as if to pet him. "Careful, he protects me so don't try anything." I said. She continued bringing her hand down on his back scales.

He didn't move. Mostly because I wasn't responded fearfully to her. "Most people don't try to puet him, let alone get him to react kindly. He must like you." I spoke. She looked at me. "Who are you?" She asked. "Katrina Cestillar. You?" I responded. "Wednesday Addams." I reached my hand out and she shook it firmly.

"Looks like I have some competition for a firm handshake here." I remarked. Wednesday looked at me blankly and said in the same, flat, monotone voice, "I need to get back to my novel." And turned away to go sit dow. at her desk. Enid got up again and made sure not to hug me. "The only reason he hissed was because you moved too quickly and I responded in a negative way. He protects me so don't try dumb shit with me and Draco." I said.

She looked hurt but that's what she gets for reacting like a moron. "Your snakes name is..Draco? Like, Draco Malfoy, the Slytherin. From Harry Potter?" Endi said, judgmentally. "Yes, do you have a problem with that?" I replied angrily. "No...anyway are you staying on my side of the room or Wednesday's?" She asked.

"Uhm, well, it looks like a rainbow personally shat on your side of the room and I legitimately feel nauseas from every single colour of the rainbow being present here so, yeah. I'm gonna choose Wednesday's. As long as it's okay with her?" I looked over to her as she turned around in her chair. "Just don't act like an untrustworthy snob, and I'm fine with it." She said and immediately turned back around.

Enid looked around her side of the room and then looked down. "I didn't mean to be rude just, not...my, thing?" I said. As I said thing, a hand without a body or anything at all crawled on my shoulder. "Uhm, what's on my shoulder?" I asked to the two girls. "Thing." Wednesday responded as she turned. I felt tapping on my shoulder which I felt was morse code so I quickly decoded it in my mind and responded back.

"Katrina Cestillar. Is this how you communicate with everyone?"  I said. I felt for tapping and replied once more. "Oh, so you don't talk a lot with people because they don't understand?" I said and felt more tapping which translated to 'Yes.' "Hm." I scoffed. Wednesday and Enid looked surprised at my ease in responding to him. "You know Morse code?" They both asked at the same time. Enid sounded shocked and Wednesday didn't sound like any emotion. Shocking.

"Uh, yeah. I learned it in 3rd grade. Well, my parents started teaching me and now I can understand it perfectly. It helped a lot. I also know sign language." I said. Draco tapped his tail on hand. "Oh, Draco knows morse code, too. He's not your ordinary snake." I placed another kiss on his head and responded to him through Morse code again.

'I love you.' I said to him. He slithered up my arm and flicked his tongue on my cheek and settled onto my hand again. That was his way of giving me kisses. The two girls looked at me. Wednesday looked back down at her novel and began writing again. Enid just sat down on her bed and told me to start unpacking. This seemed like it was gonna be.....soooo.... sooo much fun. (Sarcasm has entered the chat)
