Wednesday's POV

I sat in the library, reading a random book Thing had picked out for me, to pass time. I sat there, reading the book, barely interested. It was wordy, there were pages missing, words were spelt wrong, some words were just missing or typed over. I came across a certain word. Even professional writers can't spell correctly. Hosre isn't a word, cretin. I thought to myself. I felt my brain starting to fuzz, not itch, but fuzz.

Was Kat in my head? Katrina. I said to myself. I kept calling her Kat. Nicknames have never and will never been my thing. I looked at Thing, who was busy, looking at a book that had been left on the table. "Thing," I called, getting his attention. "Find me another book. This author apparently could not figure out how to proof read." I told him. He scurried away, jumping onto a bookshelf.

Just as he began his search, I heard footsteps approaching from the stairs. I turned, expecting to see a teacher but instead I found my gaze to be upon Katrina. "Wednesday," She said, urgently. What is it this time? I asked myself. "I need to tell you something." She exclaimed.

"No, no." I said, with my voice pitch higher than usual. "Did you read my mind again? I felt my brain tingle earlier." I asked. "Not, on purpose. Rem-" She began but I cut her off once more. "That wasn't exactly a 'no', Katrina. Didn't I tell you that last time was the last time?" I asked, starting to feel angry.

"Wednesday, please listen. I let you explain in the bathroom, let me explain now." She demanded. I stopped interrupting at her command. "Speak." I said, mockingly her slightly. She looked at me blankly. "When I was mind controlling you to tap your foot three times, I kinda forgot to tell you that a connection forms and takes a couple of days to wear off." I stared at her, alarmed. "Katrina, you-" She cut me off. "Enid kept interrupting me, I'm sorry." She looked at me, apologetic but annoyed.

Only now was I able to observe her features. Only now did I care. She had natural beach wavy hair. He eyes were a beautiful shade of green, grey, and blue. Her nose was sculpted with perfection. Her lips were plump, seeming to pop out of her face, so gracefully. She seemed to be slightly taller than me, despite our same age.

I stared at her, wondering. Why does she look...pretty? I asked myself. I looked up at her. She looked down at me, observing my face as well, it seemed. Suddenly, I remembered Katrina wincing from earlier when she moved her arm. "Katrina show me your arms." I said.

Katrina's POV

"Katrina show me your arms." Wednesday said, abruptly. I showed her my arms, without rolling up my sleeves, having a feeling what she was getting at. "Roll up your sleeves." She said. Oh, you're fucked. Haha. My inner conscious said to me. I did as she told me to, and her eyes widened in worry when she saw the cut.

"Who did this?" She said, as she grabbed my arm. My head snapped back, as I began to float. It snapped forward again and images filled my vision. I fell backwards.

"Watch for witnesses, buttercup." I heard someone say. I saw the outside of my house. "Please don't, I didn't do anything!" I heard another voice cry out. Soon, the images changed to Nevermore's lawn. Blue flames engulfed the area. I saw someone stand in front of me. "You're next." Someone said from beside me. I heard screams fill my ears.

The vision ended abruptly. "Katrina. Katrina Cestillar." I heard someone say. "Katrina!" I heard Wednesday's voice snap me back to reality. My eyes opened swiftly as I sat up and looked around. I was still in the library. "Visions." I whispered.

I remembered the vision. Someone's after us. I thought to myself. My vision swam, and not in a good way. "Kat, wh-" Wednesday started but she interrupted herself. "Katrina. Sorry."

Wednesday said sorry? She knows that word? I thought. I looked at her with my eyebrows furrowed. She looked slightly appalled and her lips parted slightly. Oh. I thought. My chest tightened and felt weird. Like it felt empty. Waiting for something.

Anticipating something. Expecting something. Wednesday continued to asked who cut me. I hung my head down in shame. "No, no, no." I heard her mumbled to herself. She looked at the cut. "I've seen worse, but this is still bad." She said. "Did you clean it?" She asked. "Yes. Since when are you so caring?" I snapped at her. "It's called basic human decency. Something you clearly aren't familiar with." She grumbled.

"No, I've heard of it. I just didn't know you knew it existed." I stated, sarcastically. She looked at me, narrowing her eyes. Do that again. I thought. No, no, stop. Don't. I thought quickly. What was wrong with me today? I just needed water and rest. I hastily dismissed myself from the library, leaving Wednesday to do whoever she was doing before I arrived at the library.
