The Final Phase

Reckon

"Oh my God!" I screeched at the sight in front of me with wild eyes. "These shoes,these shoes!" I gushed as i kept repeating that phrase.

Staring at the 5-inch wine colored crystal encrusted Louboutins. I knew am in love.

"You like it?"

I look up at his eyes, he seems nervous which made him look so cute and sweet all the same.

"I love it!"

I have a thing for shoes. Especially the shiny ones. This is so beautiful. A sound of satisfaction left his mouth.

"I saw you staring at it on your phone then i came to terms on what to get you for Christmas"

"They are beautiful" i awed, running the tips of my fingers on the hard surface. Sweet! "Thank you!" I throw myself on top of him which caused him to let out a big hearty laugh.

"Next time, i will get you more since you act this way on a single pair of shoe"

I said nothing dipping my nose into the crease of his neck, inhaling his mouthwatering scent. I smile.

How can a guy smell this good?!

"You are smiling " my eyebrows creased in confusion, how did he know? As if hearing my thoughts "I can feel it"

I giggled removing my face from his neck. While looking up at him.

"I am happy" i said before placing a quick kiss on his lips.

He hummed.

"Really?" I nodded before he dived lower at my lips for a long, sweet, dizzying, heart stopping kiss.

"So Christmas?" I said as i try to regain my breath, forgetting the designer shoes for a second as i sat perched on his thighs. "don't you think it is too early for a Christmas gift? It is next week. It is not like you are travelling or anything"

I joked but the nervous smile that graced his face made me swallow my words.

Oh no... Not again...

"About that... "

"Uhn un! " i shook my head "mii o gba" i stood up but he pulled me down back to his thighs.

"Feyi. Please... It is the festive season and there would be a lot of travels. I promise to make it back on time."

I sulked folding my arms, a frown gracing my face. I don't want him going anywhere!

Can't i have him all to myself?

"When will you be back in Lagos?"  I pestered with narrowed eyes. His heavy sigh made me realize I won't like the answer.

"I am to spend Christmas with my parents. It is actually big over there. We all gather at our parents house, my brothers and their families. I won't be available till after New Year"

I groan, New Year!

"That is too long" i complained.

"I know and i will make it up to you. I promise to stay in touch, throughout... Calls, chats, face time, voice notes. Everything!" he said flailing his hands.

I smiled at his vigour but I am not giving in so easily.

"So this is a sort of a bribe?" i said pointing at the shiny expensive shoes he got me.

Tilting his head in thought, he replied.

"Maybe?" he said his voice sounding small which caused me to burst into laughter before wrapping my arms around his neck.
