A Different World

Clean up

Peter, Lorena and Alice worked together to get the rest of the team free from the webs courtesy of Venom.

He still couldn't believe what he had just saw though, Gwen was the one in possession of the Venom symbiote and was still as unhinged as he remembered Venom being but apparently MJ had powers too, and was just as unhinged as Gwen was.

He needed answers.

So when everyone was freed and back on the ground he jumped in.

"What the hell was all that?" He asked confused.

"What was what?" Asked Lorena.

"Them. Gwen, Venom and MJ. What happened to them?" He said slightly irritated.

Lorena flinched at his tone, he never raised his voice or got angry with her. So it was a surprise for her to see him react in such a way.

"I guess they're not like that in your world?" Said Felicia.

"No. They're not." He replied through gritted teeth.

"Oh. Sorry." Lorena said apologetically. Looking down away from his gaze.

Peter calmed himself down, they didn't know of his relationship with either woman in his world, so they didn't know that seeing them like that and fighting them was affecting that badly.

"No... no I-I'm sorry. I shouldn't have gotten mad. Just... tell me what happened to them." He said gesturing to the unconscious and restrained forms of MJ and Gwen.

His eyes softened as he watched them being taken away to be locked up in a secure facility much like the Raft in his world.

"Well... who should we start with?" Lorena asked him.

"Huh. Start with Gwen." He responded dryly.

"Okay. Well... you both met in high school, she was one of your only friends and at some point you both started dating." Lorena began.

Peter followed along quite well, after all it was basically the same in his world too.

"But after you got your powers and we're spending your time being Spider-Man Gwen was mad and broke things off. She didn't know of your identity and was angry that you weren't spending time with her and resented Spider-Man." She continued.

Peter felt bad for her. He already went through the whole relationship secret thing in his world with Gwen and MJ both. Obviously things played out different here.

"At some point you bonded with that symbiote but it's unchecked anger and aggression made you crazy and eventually you separated with it. But the symbiote fled without a trace."

Peter knew what it was like being bonded with the symbiote, specifically Venom, and how it affected him. He had a sneaking suspicion where the story was heading.

"Then, as you could guess, it found Gwen. It bonded with her and shared its memories with her and she discovered the truth about you being Spider-Man. She started to believe that you two were supposed to be together and with the symbiote attached to her she became a bit of a persistent stalker and would show herself every so often." Lorena said.

Peter sighed, he guessed it, instead of the symbiote bonding with Eddie and having an obsession with him it bonded with Gwen and had a more romantic fixation towards him.

"And what about MJ? What happened to her?" He questioned.

"Not much difference their I'm afraid." Felicia answered.

"She's right." Lorena concurred.

"You and her were neighbours but she didn't really show much of an interest. You guys dated after Gwen dumped you and your relationship played out almost identically to hers. Difference is she found out about your identity and ended up giving herself powers like yours in some sick attempt to be like you. Now she calls herself your other half and should be together. Girls just plain crazy." Felicia explained.

Peter was speechless. He didn't think MJ would do something like that. She must really be unstable if she went through all that trouble.

"Is... is there anything else I should know about?" He asked defeatedly.

"Well... what do you want to know?" Felicia replied bleakly.

"I don't know. Anyone else in my life who I should know about?"

"We don't know what differences their are between our two worlds. Only you do. So unless you tell us who in particular then there's nothing we can really tell you is there?" Felicia answered coldly.

Peter thought on it for a while and although he had a few people in mind he wanted to know more about in this world he wasn't sure were to start.

"How about... we clean up the mess first. Then if you have any questions, come find us. Ok?" Lorena interjected hoping to ease the tension.

"Sure. Sounds good." Felicia and Peter said at the same time.

They left and started fixing up the base after Gwen and MJ made a mess of it. The webs were collected and were set aside so they could dissolve after a while.

Any machines that were damaged were sent off to Otto for repair and assessment to make sure nothing ended up blowing up and causing untold damages.

Peters wall crawling really helped in fixing the damages to the wall and roof of the base from the cracks that had formed from the impact of everyone being slammed against it and being webbed to it.

He sat back down and thought once again about who he would want to know more about. In his personal life there was some people who would want to know about, not to mention there was all the villains in his world who he would want to know what they're like in this world.

How was Norman Osborn, one of his most notorious villains. Or Wilson Fisk the Kingpin of crime. How different were they in this world?

It was far too early for this kind of deep thinking, he had just gotten back from patrolling with TaskMaster and he was faced with two crazy evil exes who just happened to be some of his closest friends back home.

"Huh. I wonder how everyone is back home. If they're trying to find a way to get me back?" He wondered out loud.
