A Different World

It Cant Be

Peter, or rather Spider-Man was dodging attack after attack from both Iron Man and Captain America, who seemingly wanted to kill him.

"Guys, I'm not sure what's going on but can't we talk this out?" He exasperated.

"The time for talk is long gone you ingrate." Said Iron Man behind his mask.

'What is he talking about?' Wondered Peter.

"We need to put an end to this. First we take care of the insect, then we deal with those nuisances." Said Captain America.

Peter continued to dodge attack after attack, never fighting back as to not hurt his friends and allies, even if they were making this difficult by attacking him.

'Seriously. What's going on here. First I find the Sinister Six helping out people, then they yell at me for wearing this suit, and now Cap and Tony are fighting me like I'm their mortal enemy.' Peter pondered.

"Look out!" Came a voice from behind him.

Reacting quickly Spider-Man evaded a bullet aimed for his head. Looking in the direction the bullet was fired from he is once again surprised to see a familiar face who is trying to kill him.

Natasha Romanoff, or the Black Widow as she was more commonly known by, was standing across from him with her smoking gun raised in his direction.

"Nat? What are you doing? What's going on?" He asked pleadingly.

"What's happening Spider-Man is we are getting rid of you and your friends once and for all." She said menacingly.

She fired of more bullets which missed their desired target due to Peter spider sense alerting him and reacting instantly to dodge the bullets.

'Ok, this is seriously getting out of hand. I need to stop this.' He thought determined.

Firing a web line towards Natasha, Peter webbed her gun to her hand rendering it useless and stuck in her grasp, web zipping forward he punched her in the face knocking her back a little. He followed up in this with a few more blows directed at her chest and a solid kick sending her tumbling back.

Iron Man and Captain America jumped in to fight the web slinger head to head with Steve taking the lead. Lunging forward Cap tried to tackle him and bring him to the ground, Spidey evaded the tackle and quickly blocked Caps shield as he swung it back into his chest.

Peter skidded back a few meters and fired a web line to his shield to try and pry it out of his hands, but Cap stood his ground and kept his shield tightly affixed to his arm.

Iron Man swooped in from above and grabbed him bringing him up into the air, reacting quickly Peter fired a glob of web on the faceplate of Iron Man's mask blinding him, he then fired another glob at his leg repulsors causing them to fail and both start plummeting to the ground.

Peter escaped his grasp and swung away as Iron Man continues to fall, he hit the ground hard before getting back up and ripping the webbing off his legs.

"You'll pay for that you insect." Shouted Tony who was preparing his uni-beam.

"Enough!" Said Captain America he stood in front of Tony.

"We've wasted enough time here. We'll finish him next time, for now we withdraw." He ordered causing Tony to grit his teeth.

"Fine." Was all he said as he grabbed Cap and took off into the skies. Natasha, who had recovered from the kick and watched from the side waiting for an opening, retreated into the shadows following her friends.

'Wow, that was an experience.' Peter thought as they retreated.

Suddenly his spider sense rings out and he evades a strike from the unknown female he saw earlier.

"Just because they're gone doesn't mean we're done with you." She angrily shouts.

"Wait hold up, what's going on round here?" He asks receiving no reply.

He continues to evade the young girls strikes but he is ambushed from behind by some of the other villains.

Beetle took to the air and fired blasts at him while white rabbit threw explosives at him. The unknown female also dodged the blasts but quickly closed the distance to continue fighting him.

Spider-Man webs white rabbits explosives and takes them out of her grasp, he then fires webbing at Beetles wings casing her to fall to the ground.

The young girl finds an opening and manages to kick him square in the chest sending him back a few feet, he quickly recovers only to have Doc Ock step in for the fight.

Doc sends two of his mechanical arms to grab Spider-Man. He weaves through them as they clash together but he cannot stop the third arm that came underneath him and shot him up in the air.

Ock quickly reengages his first two tentacle to grab onto Spider-Man's arms before violently slamming him into the pavement, the third tentacle slams in the back of his head rendering him unconscious.

Ock lifts the Spider-Man with two tentacles wrapping around his body, leaving his head and feet the only things exposed.

"Time to see who dares to wear the suit." Said Otto as he brought the unconscious body towards him.

Sliding his hand under the mask he lifts it off the reveal the identity of Peter Parker, someone who they immediately recognise and stumble over themselves at the revelation.

"I-impossible. It cannot be." Ock said in shock.

Everyone's eyes fall upon the face of the young man, many of them just as surprised as Otto was but for some there was something else.

For the unknown female she was in disbelief and took her own mask off to better look at his face.

White Rabbit similarly got closer to his face as if to confirm any doubts or suspicions, with tears forming in her eyes and rolling down her cheeks.

"It... can't be. It's impossible, he can't be here...

Peter."
