Chapter 4 - Soul Bound

"Carlo, I don't know what to do..Adam hasn't woken up since last week..oh, is my boy alright?" I could hear my mom's sobs..she was really worried, I tried to open my eyes and tell her..tell her, that I was okay.
"Honey, Adam is going to be alright..he's going to wake up soon..I promise.." I hear my dad's voice aswell, his voice sounded tired and strained. His voice..he was losing hope.
"Carlo..you've said that a million times, Carlos please, please Carlo..I want my son back.." my mom was sobing even harder.
"Mama! Please don't cry..everything will be alright, yes..everything" it pained me, my sister was trying to comfort Mama. I wanted to wake up, I tried and tried but my eyes were shut. A question came through head. Am I dead? Impossible, h-how?
"You are close to dying," who was that? I opened my eyes to see myself in a dark place..nothing but blackness.
"W-who are you?"
"I am you" the same person, the same person in my dreams and that incident at school.
"YOU! IT'S ALL YOU..WAKE ME UP! WAKE ME UP RIGHT NOW!"
"Woah, woah, calm down, let me explain," I was mad, I glared at him, waiting for an answer.
"So, that day you fainted your soul       was almost taken-"
"By who?"
"The other ones.."
"Who are they?"
"They're like me, you see what I am? I look exactly like you except a few things.. but, have you ever wondered why?" I stared at him for a good minute before answering.
"Ofcourse, who are you?"
"Didn't I just tell you? I'm you"
"But how?"
"Find out,"
"And how the fuck am I supposed to find out?"
"You'll know soon enough, now enough with that talk, you're soul is about to perish and you are going to die.." me? Die? I might have thought about it a few times but could never imagine it, so young..
"I got a way to stop you from dying-"
"Wait, really? I'll do anything, anything..but please, please...return me to my family" Just me saying that made me realise how precious my family is.
"There is only one way, you give me half of your soul,"
"W-what?"
"You heard me, your soul" he said to me while pointing his finger at my chest, I pushed his finger of.
"What would happen?"
"You give me half your soul, I'm able to keep you living for the rest of your life,"
"That's all?"
"Yep!" I thought about it for a few moments, but I heard voices, my mom's sobs, my dad's tired voice and my sisters and also..my friends, Callum, Mira, Ru, Kyumi..and alot more.
"I...accept,"
"Great! Now let me just-" he reached for my chest.
"But there is one condition.." He stopped.
"And what would that be?"
"You will protect me, forever"
"Ofcourse, why wouldn't I, don't you know if you die, I die"
"Thanks for the knowledge, now be quick" I heard something, a whisper near my ear 'don't trust him' who was that? One of those monsters again? Were they back for my soul? 'We warn you' I just ignored it. He reached for my chest and his hand went through. I felt ticklish then a sharp pain, he took out something almost like a shining ball and put it in his chest.
"Great, that was easy"
"Have you done this before?"
"Many times, but most of them died"
"Wait what..how?"
"From trusting me?" He stood there staring at his nails.
"What do you mean?"
"You should've just listened to those voices, now look where it led you"
"Wait wha-"
"Bye bye!" And he disappeared without a trace. I sighed.
"I knew I should've asked him for the terms and conditions"

My eyes burnt, I opened my eyes to a bright light. I groaned quietly. My whole body was aching from head to toe, I felt sick.
"Mama, Mama! Adam, he's awake!" My sister jumped on me.
"O-oh Adam, are you alright? Anything wrong, you need food, drink?" Mama was franktikly running round the room, she handed me a glass of water and i've never felt better.
"Adam, did you know how worried we was?" Said my dad.
"Yes, we were, but now your awake we have nothing to worry about," Mama said to me whilst hugging me.
"Adam, me and Mila were scared you wouldn't wake up" i looked at Mila and she nodded.
"I'm sorry for scaring you" I said while they were hugging me.
"It's alright, bro, atleast you didn't die! Haha!" I was so happy, my family they were all smiling, that made me forget about all the troubles. Even if it was just for a few minutes
"Now, now everyone, we need to go get a nurse, she needs to check on Adam"
"Alright everyone , c'mon" my whole family went out side, I was in there all alone. There was a mirror right infront me. Oh bollocks, these past few days I didn't have such a great past with mirrors, I looked at myself..my hair somehow darker brown, my eyes, it had a tint of red in my once hazel eyes. I looked diffrent, eventhough it was not to much that it was noticable, i felt stronger. My face more softer, woah! I stared longer at myself admiring my beauty, till I heard a voice.
"You shouldn't really stare at yourself for that long, it makes you hallucinate" him again. I ignored him.
"Ignore me all you want, I'm apart of you" he smiled scarcely.
"Your very naive, those voices they are your only guidance." As he said that he disappeared. What did he mean by that? All I wanted to care about was my family right now, their happiness. I sighed deeply.
'Protect your family..he's coming for them next'
That voice again, my eyes felt heavy then darkness. I'm tired.

Author's note

Hey guys! I was so happy about getting over 50 reads that I made another chapter hopefully this was intresting. Noting this, that me posting another chapter right after another is really rare and I don't know if it will happen again but I was very excited that I wanted to drop a new chapter. It's legit 2 at night and I just finished the chapter, I tried to add a bit of clues for you guys to think about for future chapter! If you want to suggest anything to add pls do in the comment section and I'll gladly try to add it!! And to say the two characters Ryu and Kyumi that Adam mentioned are Adam's really close friends ever since the start of year 7. They are both siblings and twins and are the only two Japanese people in the school. I have alot more characters coming, and they will be from alot of Asian and African countries and ofcourse Europe and Muslim, Christian and Hindu characters some atheists so my goal is to make this story as diverse and cultural as possible adding a few things about each culture say anything about your culture in the comments so I can add it in because I'm sure I can't trust google for this but pls do I'm very excited to hear! And for the 3 mc, Adam is spanish, Callum is Italian and Mira is Lebanese and a quater British, basically her dad is half British and half Lebanese and her mom is fully Lebanese! If i don't add your countries I'm very srry in future books I will and as usual pls tell me about any spelling mistakes or misspelled words I tried my best on this chapter and my hands r legit aching😭😭
The last thing is that my new story      school of lies will officially start It's first chapter next week! So be excited if you want to find out what happens.
