Noah Patiently sat in the waiting room of the hospital, as his heart was beating like a drum inside of his chest.

"She's going to be okay, right? This isn't this first time, she'll pull through like she always does." Noah's sister Noel said.

Noah's mother Keonna, has suffered from lupus all her life. Honestly, it was remarkable that she manage to live this long given how severe her lupus was.

But like Noel stated, she's managed to pull through for this long.

But maybe her body has finally decided to give up.

Noah rolled his eyes, his sister could be so naive sometimes.

"This isn't the first, but It could be the last."

Noel roughly pushed Noahs arm and said, "Don't say that." As her eyes welded up with tears.

Although this wasn't the first time for the two, Noah experienced this way more than Noel. He knew his mother was tired, and he was tired of always being optimistic.

She was sick, and they both knew it was only a matter of time before they had to say their goodbyes.

Noel hated how negative Noah was being about the situation.

Her mother was strong and she believed that her mother will pull through this, like she always does.

"Noel, Momma is tired..."

Noel shook her head was the tears rapidly fell from her eyes. "No."

"Noel—"

"Excuse me?" The nurse interrupted, "You two may see her now."

Noah quickly got up out of his seat as it took Noel a few seconds before she could get out of hers.

She was afraid to see how her mother would look.

Noah looked behind himself to see Noel standing in the same position, holding her chest.

"Are you having a panic attack?" Noah said.

"No, just give me a minute. Go on without me."

Noah nodded his head, before he proceeded to follow the nurse to the room where his mother was located.

Once he entered the room, fear settled in on him as he watch his mother lay in the bed with her eyes closed.

She was awake, but the pain medicine had caused her eyelids to grow heavy, and she just couldn't manage to keep them open.

She was too weak.

Noah pulled up a chair beside her bed, as the nurse politely exited the room.

Noah took a seat and grasped his mother hands into his.

Her eyes finally fluttered open, as the single touch from her son, gave her the strength she needed to open them.

"Noah..?" She said, in a groggily voice.
