Liliana's POV

I stood behind the big rock formation as I watched Atlas, the future Alpha of our pack, together with his best friend Alas, as they're talking seriously near the shore. My eyes are fixed to the rigid expression in the face of Atlas. Even with his furrowed brows and tense jaw, I can't help but to notice how breathtaking he is. Tan skin, tall figure, dark hair, and brown orbs, he is indeed perfect.

I saw him turning his head to my direction and I quickly hide behind the rock again praying fervently to the moon goddess that he didn't notice me. After several minutes, I tried to look at their direction again only to see him and Alas fighting. Both of them are bound to be the future Alpha of their own packs so there's no question of who's the stronger among the two. I want to intervene but I'm afraid that Atlas would ask why I am here.

I put my palms together and pray to the Moon Goddess to stop the feud between them but I guess she can't help me right now. I see fury in Alas' eyes as he looks at Atlas like he's going to kill him. Atlas, on the other hand, remained calm contrary to the intense anger that I can see in his eyes right now.

I don't understand why they are fighting. They are best friends! They grow up together. We grew up together! Their bond is unbreakable so seeing them kill each other in front of me is beyond shocking.

Without second thought, Alas shifted into his wolf form and jumped straight to Atlas. He's still in his human form and I can't see any trace of him shifting at any moment.

Why? Why aren't you fighting back? You need to protect yourself!

A silent whimper came out of my mouth as I saw how Atlas tried to dodge Alas' attacks. He is strong. There's no doubt about that. But a future Alpha in a wolf form is much stronger.

Why aren't you shifting, Atlas?!

I cried to him in my head as I felt hot tears flowing down my cheeks with the scene in front of me. Atlas is not fighting back. He's just trying to dodge Alas' attacks and I feel my wolf crying seeing him wounded with fresh blood all over his body.

Stop! Please stop! Don't hurt him! Stop hurting, my love!

"Atlas"

I tried to call his name as I stepped out of the big rock where I'm hiding.

He's now unconscious. Full of blood and wounds.

Why didn't you fight back?

Alas' wolf turns to me and I feel sudden fear enveloping my body.

Is he going to kill me too?

He growled at me and I shook in fear. I saw him throw Atlas' unconscious body in the ocean. I watched as I saw him submerged.

He's going to drown!

A sudden rush of adrenaline came to my system. I tried to run to save him but Alas' wolf stopped me with another earth shattering growl. I felt my knees wobble but I shook it off. Atlas needs me!

I tried to run to his side again but I felt something sharp in my shoulder causing me to stop abruptly. Alas' wolf let go of my shoulder and I felt rich blood coming out from my wound. He shifted immediately and I saw his eyes go back to their original color.

"L-Liliana" he said softly. Regret plastered on his face. He tried to reach for me but I whimpered in fear. He stopped his hand mid air and I saw sadness in his eyes.

The reason behind his sadness and sudden regret doesn't concern me as I, with all the strength remaining, run fast towards the place where he threw the unconscious body of Atlas.

I found him and immediately pulled into the shore. I can still hear his heart beating! It's not too late!

Without second thought, I put my mouth on his to give him air and do chest compressions. My shoulder hurts so much but I don't care about it anymore. This is more important. He is more important!

"You're hurting yourself." Alas said softly in my back. I don't have any strength to fight him right now as I continue pounding Atlas' chest.

"Stop it, Liliana. He's dead!" He shouted again.

I shook my head. Hot tears blurring my vision.

No, he's not dead. He can't die!

I feel my wolf howling in grief.

No, he won't die.

I assured her as I continue giving him air and doing chest compressions.

I can feel my energy draining. I can no longer feel anything. My body is now numb from all the blood I lost. But I can't stop. I won't stop.

Please, Moon Goddess. Please save the man I love.

With all the strength remaining, I tried to revive him. I can feel my energy depleting. My eyes closing. But before I lose consciousness, I felt him come back to life!

Coughing out the water, I hugged him with all my might.

I'm glad you're alive.

I said to myself before I fell asleep.
