The next morning, I styled Hyunjin's new hair. I may or may not have put several bows in it. He forced me to take them out.We were going to meet up with Changbin at the park in a few minutes. I think it's fair to say I was nervous as hell.
"You ready?? Trust me, I'll beat him up if he doesn't apologize." Jisung smiled.
"No beating anyone up. You can talk to him calmly." I said.
"I'm sure it'll be fine. We know Bin, he'll be ecstatic to see her and then apologize. Then everything will go perfectly, and they'll get married, and have a cute little kid named after me." Hyunjin said.
"Yeah, I don't think that'll happen. He'll be named after me." Jisung argued.
"How about he's named after neither of you? He doesn't even exist." I said.
"But I'll be his uncle, I need to teach him how to flirt." Jisung whined.
"And I need to teach him how to ride a bike. The favorite uncles always do that." Hyunjin smiled.
"There will be no kid! And no uncles." I shut down the conversation. "Besides, we need to go."
Jisung gasped, grabbing both of our wrists and dragging us outside. "They're gonna get together~"
"He has a girlfriend, does he not?" I asked.
"Don't ruin the vibes, Jihye." Hyunjin said.
I rolled my eyes as we arrived at the park. Changbin wasn't there yet, so I sat on one of the swings. Hyunjin instantly came behind me and started to push me.
"Hyunjinnie, I'm not a child. I can swing myself." I giggled.
"But this is more fun~" He sang, continuing to push me.
That was until Changbin came from around the corner. Hyunjin quickly pulled me to a stop and helped me off.
"Hey, what's up?" Changbin asked, clearly not noticing me. "What happened to your hair Hyunjin?"
"Jihye happened." Jisung said.
"It's not that bad, is it?" I asked, taking a quick look.
"No it looks good-" Changbin said, suddenly realizing it was me. "Jihye."
I was surprised when he didn't hug me, or even smile for that matter.
"Hey." I smiled. "I missed you, Binnie."
"Ah...okay." He muttered.
My smile instantly faded as I looked at the other two boys for help. Hyunjin noticed, but had no clue what to say.
"You lied to us." Jisung spoke up.
"About what?" Changbin asked.
"You said you talked to Jihye every day. You haven't talked to her since she left." Hyunjin said.
"I've been busy." Changbin defended.
"What are you even doing? She's your best friend and she's been gone for months. You barely even said hi." Jisung said, beginning to get mad.
"She's not my best friend." Changbin argued. "I have to go. Eunji wants to hang out."
"Eunji?" I asked, tears attacking my eyes.
"My girlfriend." He replied, walking away.
"I'm going to beat him up." Jisung said, about to follow after him when Hyunjin stopped him.
"Are you okay, Jihye?" Hyunjin asked.
I nodded. "I think I just need to go home and rest for a bit."
"Let me walk you back at least-"
"I'm fine, Hyunjin. I'll talk to you guys later."
I began walking back to my house, the tears falling. I wasn't his best friend? How could do much change in 4 months? How could the person I loved with my entire heart just lose all interest?
I shouldn't have expected him to wait for me. That was stupid. I walked into my house, taking a seat on the couch.
Seungmin was there, watching a show.
"You good?" He asked.
I nodded.
"We got your results back from the doctor. He said you have generalized anxiety disorder." Seungmin said, still focused on the show.
"Oh- uhm..okay." I replied, taking out my phone.
I had one text from Changbin. Why was he texting me now?
From Changbin:
I'm sorryTo Changbin:
OkayFrom Changbin:
Can I just explain?To Changbin:
What is there to explain? You didn't talk to me for 4 months and you weren't even happy to see me todayFrom Changbin:
I was happy. Trust me. Just guilty. It's a long story, please just let me explain in person. To Changbin:
Why?From Changbin:
Because I still love you. You're still my best friend. To Changbin:
Fine. When do you want to meet up?From Changbin:
Tomorrow. At the cafe.I turned off my phone, sighing heavily.
"Okay, what's wrong?" Seungmin asked.
"Just boys." I replied, getting up and walking to my room.
"Boys?! What boys?!" He screeched, chasing after me. "Are you dating someone?!"
"No, Seungmin. I'm not. You wanna know why? Because I have three insane brothers that won't let me date anyone." I said.
"I feel attacked." He replied, acting offended.
"Namjoon!!! Seungmin's bothering me!!" I shouted.
"Leave your sister alone!!!" Namjoon shouted back.
I smiled, shutting my bedroom door.
"I hate you, Jihye." Seungmin groaned.
"Not as much as I hate you, dummy." I replied.
My phone began ringing. It was Hyunjin.
[Hi. How are you holding up?]
"I'm okay. He wants to talk to me tomorrow."
[For real? If I were you I wouldn't. He ignored you for months. What did you say?]
"..I said yes. He said he wanted to explain and you know I just can't deny him-"
[Pabo. Kim Jihye, he has been an absolute jerk to you, why would you agree?]
"You know I love him, it's not that easy to say no-"
[I don't care what you say, I'm going with you. I can just spy from a corner, I won't interrupt. I just need to be there for you.]
"As long as you don't bring Jisung. He'll probably start a fight in there if anything goes south."
[You know he'll want to come. Worst case scenario, I'll have to hold him back. We just want to be there for you.]
"Fine. Please just don't cause a scene."
[No promises. Oh- I gotta go. Lia's calling. Love you, Jihye, bye!!]
"Love you too. Bye."
I smiled to myself as he hung up. I was lucky to have friends that cared so much about me, even if Changbin wasn't one of them right now.
