THE MORNING WAS interesting, to say the least, Vance and Bruce sat next to each other, which of course led to the group asking if anything had happened between the two, and they were quick to explain as much as they could, Robin and Finney were unusually clingy, which then lead to them admitting they had slept together, but that was clear from the hickeys and bite marks of Finney's neck, and the faint scratches on Robin's shoulders down his back from what everyone guessed.
The group got along easily, but Vance was always going to be slightly distant.
But Vance was close with Bruce, but that was also because Bruce was the only person that knew about Vance's secret.
◦•●◉✿Time Skip✿◉●•◦
The group had gone to the small park near Robin's house, Vance sat alone on the swings, watching his friends from afar, almost like he was scared to get close as if they would see him as some freak, and suddenly get up and leave him, and then he thought, even if Griffin ended up thinking of him as some disgusting freak, he couldn't leave Vance, after all, they lived together now, and it seemed like their parents made no plans on leaving each other anytime soon.
Vance felt sorry for this group, despite all their attempts, they couldn't get close to Vance, as the blond had built walls around himself and he had planned on letting those walls fall down.
Suddenly, he didn't feel so welcome in his own skin, he wanted to rip his skin off and leave this body to die so he could move onto a new one, a body where he was what he was meant to be, a boy.
Vance had been so lost in thought he didn't notice Bruce had come and sat on the swing next to him, watching the others run around and attack each other.
Bruce spoke softly, reaching out of Vance's scared hands, "C'mon, let's get them something, a surprise or something for them?" Vance looked at Bruce's hand, he gave a soft nod and took his hand, following him to a random Tim Hourtens which was then found out to be closed, so they headed to the next best thing, Starbucks.
Vance and Bruce had a chemistry that Vance didn't have with the others, it was almost like they were meant to be, but Vance was horrified of having to admit to having this feeling as this feeling made him feel like a girl, and every single time he felt like a girl, he was back to stage one, and he hated how he felt in his stage one.
Bruce smiled, holding 3 coffees and 2 bags holding food in his hand, the other still interlocked with Vance, Vance had another 3 coffee's in his hand and 4 bags in his hand as well.
Both boys came back to the park to find the 4 that had been left there, sitting at the park bench, Finney sitting next to Robin, laying on his head on Robin's shoulder, Billy and Griffin sat next to each other and held the others hand, Bruce smiled and put the bags and drinks on the table, Vance copied that, placing the ones he was holding down on the table, the group's eyes lit up and they thanked Vance and Bruce.
Vance smiled, it was small and almost smirk-like, but it was real, a real smile, not a fake one that he felt he had to put on a real, genuine smile.
For a long time, the only person that could make him smile was his mother, Robin spoke in awe, "Vance is smiling! It's a miracle!" Vance didn't get defensive, he smiled wider and gave a soft laugh, almost trying to hide it as if he was embarrassed.
The rest of the group gave a smile, looking at Vance who had slightly reddened cheeks and a soft smile.
◦•●◉✿A Few Weeks Later✿◉●•◦
A few weeks passed by, and Vance found out that the plan—For his mother's wedding—was they would go to Tronto, Vance had never been out of Richmond Hill that often, they would be in Tronto for about a week or 2.
Vance was slightly scared of that.
Griffin explained what was happing with him and Vance and how they would be going to Tronto, once that was explained, Bruce didn't want to leave Vance's side as he wanted to make the most of Vance's time before he headed off to Tronto, Bruce knew that it would be Vance's first time not being within walking distance from his home or from his friends, Vance admitted most of this well they sat around eating and high, Bruce enjoyed hanging out with Vance.
Over time they had become pretty much become best friends, but both of them knew there were other feelings there, romantic feelings, but neither could admit it yet, Vance still jumped out of his skin when someone touched his shoulder, and Bruce wasn't ready for a relationship or anything too romantic, he could hardly even thinking of asking a girl or guy on a date, but girls always asked him out and he had to kindly turn them down as he wasn't ready for something like that as his parent constantly tried to get him to find a girl to bring home as they couldn't believe that their baby boy Bruce wasn't straight, they could bring themselves to understand Bruce might bring a boy home.
Bruce's parents had tried to have total control over almost all aspects of Bruce's life, but, now, it seemed like they couldn't do that now, Bruce was trying to grow into his own person, not his person already built facade of the perfect golden child.
Bruce wasn't just an extension of the Yamada name, he was his own person, and he couldn't always understand why his parents wouldn't understand that as they always made it seem like Bruce had to be the one to carry the Yamada name, so he had to get with a girl so they could have offspring so the Yamada family name could keep growing, but Bruce wasn't in love with a girl, he was in love with Vance.
He was in love with Vance Hopper who was someone that used to be a girl but was now a handsome boy with pretty eyes that always kept Bruce wanting to stare into them and drown in his eyes, Bruce wanted to know Vance's opinions on having kids in the future, and from what Vance had told him, that if his partner wanted to have kids, he would gladly carry a baby for his lover, Bruce also brought up the topic of what surgeries Vance would end up getting, Vance said that he was going to get top surgy but he didn't know about any other ones then.
Bruce wouldn't mind having children, but thinking about how his parents were, he was scared he would turn out like his father and try to control everything his children would do, that was something he was scared about, he didn't want to ever want to be like his father.
