Chapter 32: Full Kook

"You got rope?" John B asked as they were driving down the highway.

"Got it," Pope said.

"Grappling hook?" John B asked.

"We don't have a grappling hook," Evelyn said, "We're not Batman."

The group pulled up to the Crain house right after the sun set.

"Pulley?" John B asked.

"Check," Kiara said.

"Dark clothes?" John B asked.

"Got it," Sarah said.

"Flashlights?"

"Check," JJ said.

"All right, good," John B said, "We're ready

"Let's go," Kiara said.

"Let's go get rich, guys," JJ said.

"Hell yeah," Evelyn agreed.

"Let's go boys and girls," Kiara said as John B slid open the van door.

"Wait," John B said stopping the group from leaving the van, "I wanna say thank you, guys. Seriously. It means a lot to me that you're here tonight."

"Always," Kiara said rolling her eyes.

"Wouldn't have missed it for the world," Evelyn agreed.

"Of course, man," Pope agreed too.

"All right, we done with this circle jerk?" JJ asked, "Can we do this?"

"Let's go get that wheat in the water," Pope said as they climbed out of the van.

"Weed?" JJ questioned, "I'm up for weed."

"When are you not," Evelyn asked rolling her eyes.

"Wheat. I said wheat," Pope confirmed.

"After you," Kiara said gesturing for Sarah to go first.

"Ladies first," Sarah said climbing up the wall.

"Here goes nothing," Evelyn said before pulling herself over the wall and dropping on the other side.

After everyone had made it over the wall, the group started walking toward the house. Evelyn looked around on alert.

"This place is even creepier in the dark," she whispered.

"Don't worry," JJ whispered from behind her, "I'll protect you."

Kiara stopped just in front of the house as everyone joined around her. Lights turned on making everyone run behind a nearby bush.

"Shit!" Sarah gasped.

"Flashlight," Kiara said.

"It's on strobe," JJ said struggling with his light.

"Shh," John B said putting his finger to his lips trying to quiet everyone.

"Okay," Pope said pulling off his face mask and hood, "Okay, so she has motion sensor lights."

"We could, uh..move really slowly, maybe?" JJ suggested.

Evelyn turned to give him a stupid look, "You know sometimes I wonder how you even made it to high school."

"That's not how that works," Pope said looking at the boy.

"Oh, shit. Let's throw a rock at it," John B suggested.

"What?" Pope exclaimed.

"That's a really good idea," Kiara said, "Let the axe murderer know that we're here."
