The Coming of the New Child

Please read: This is a note from an author, who is now writing this about a year and a bit after the start of this book. Thank you so much for choosing this book to read. I hope you will enjoy it! However, I must warn you of some things. There will be grammar and tense mistakes, and mistakes regarding the Canon info. Not much, since I do make effort to make a good book, but enough to be noticable. I don't have time to correct these, but bear with me. By the second book, most of my grammar mistakes should be gone. Thank you again for choosing this book!

I do not own any part of Naruto. This is just my fan fiction and nothing else. There may be some parts of the story where I used words from the original graphic novels but that's only because I wanted to make this fan ficiton like the real story.

The title page was actually drawn and colored by me too :) I hope you like it! As I said in my profile, I am an artist for a hobby.

"Where are we going?" demanded a small boy with black hair, he was riding on the back of his brother who walked along side a man.

The older brother looked up and smiled, "We are going to see mother."

"Eh?" said the small boy leaning down, "But why?"

"You did not notice that mother has disappeared for quite a while Sasuke?" said the man sternly, "How could you be so neglecting of your mother?"

"I... didn't notice," sulked the small boy making himself small under his father's gaze, "because we sometimes saw mother in a strange place."

The older brother laughed, "We are going to that strange place right now that's called the hospital and we are visiting mother."

"Oooh!" said the small boy, "I didn't know that. After we see mother can you play with me again Onii-san?"

"No," objected the man walking beside the two brothers, "Itachi has his missions to do as a Genin. Don't be so selfish Sasuke, first you forget about your mother and now you are being ignorant of your brother's time?"

Sasuke shrank even smaller than he was and fell into a sulking silence, "Sorry," he muttered and ducked his head down.

"Don't be harsh father," said Itachi gently, "Sasuke is still small, he doesn't have to worry about such things, right Sasuke?"

"Huh?" said Sasuke, "oh, yeah, maybe."

"Hmph," scoffed the father and he continued in his stride, "I expect better from a child of the family that leads the Uchiha clan," he said quietly to Sasuke who hugged Itachi tighter in response. "Itachi has yet to awakened his sharingan," continued Fugaku, "but he was a top student in the Academy. Now Itachi is training to become a Chuunin, and I suspect his sharingan will arrive shortly. You should be like your brother, Sasuke."

"I'm trying," muttered Sasuke and Itachi smiled.

"Fugaku," gasped Uchiha Mikoto who lay in her hospital bed with sweat pouring down her face, "you came to visit? You shouldn't have... I'm fine really, you needn't be worried."

"Mother," said Itachi setting Sasuke down, "how are you feeling?" Itachi approached his mother and held her sweaty hand, "Are you in pain?"

"It isn't that bad," gasped Mikoto, "when I think of the outcome, I can only picture happiness."

"Indeed," said Fugaku, "the child's arrival will definitely bring certain joy to the Uchiha."

"Certain joy?" said Sasuke in confusion, "why not 'joy,' why 'certain joy'?"
