<3. igloo

it was a very white christmas. people loitered around (couples mostly and little families), while the sweet air of hot chocolate and peppermint played around legs and bodies, snow raining down upon the civilization, enjoying the magnificent view. a bitter wind had started to pick up, making (y/n)'s cheeks red and limbs numb as she stood against a brick wall, taking shelter from the room of a cute candy shop.

a puffer jacket thrown over her body, zipped up with a lovely pair of earmuffs and gloves to match it, but (y/n) felt anything but flattered in this situation. her neatly styled hair, frayed like it went through her hurricane, her face barely even seen from it hiding beneath the fur of her coat and her lips that were just slathered with lip-gloss, vanished into thin air. it was her first date, yet it was going a bit south.

"(y/n)!" a distant voice cries, and she subconsciously smiles, peeking out from the fur, spluttering the pieces out as she waves kakucho over, feeling the butterflies in her stomach start to flutter again at his grin. pretty pink flowers held in his rough hands, pulling the scarf around his neck up to his face to conceal his blooming flesh.

"i'm so sorry I-" he cuts off with a surprise, two fingers side by side gently pushing against his lips, the girl under him/above him, giggles, and he could feel his heart thrash in his ears, grinning oh so brightly, successfully shushing him.

"I don't really care if your late or not, I just want to be next to you" she whispers, closing in near him and he shuts his eyes, expecting a soft pair of lips to land on his but instead he feels her cheeks brush along with his, her mouth broadening against his skin, hastily pulling away.

"come on, let's go inside hm?" she tugs on his jacket, pulling him with her inside the small and warm coffee shop that was next door to where (y/n) was standing, the first place they've ever met, the classic old story of a cute customer and his waitress.

picking their seat inside the booth, a waitress comes over to take their orders, not many people inside from the little coffee shop hidden a bit from view. "what would you guys like?" he asks, feeling envious of the cute couple in front of him, noticing the lovesick gaze the boyfriend was sending his girl.

"erm, can I get a (whatever coffee you would get) and some banana bread please" she sends a sweet smile towards the waiter who blushes, swiftly turning towards kakucho, who kept staring at (y/n) with lidded eyes, mouth crimped at the corners, face warm with rubies adorning it.

"um sir?"

he blinks before turning slowly at the boy (who must be the same age as them), his face flushing even more from the embarrassment he mutters "whatever she got".

"alright then, anything else?"

(y/n) shakes her head, using her hand to subtly cover her laughs from her boyfriend's dumbfounded expression, watching their waiter, stride to the kitchen to give in their order (more like (y/n)'s since kakucho was so distracted but that doesn't matter). "w-what's wrong, why are you laughing?" he stutters, genuinely confused by her snickers. however, the giggles leave a warm imprint in the corner of his beating heart.

"hmmm nothing, where do you want to go after this?"

his eyes twinkling like bright stars, he whispers, "it's a secret" cueing (y/n)'s furrowed eyebrows and her downturned lips, clicking her tongue against the roof of her mouth in faux irritation. "oh my god you're so impatient" he complains, reaching over to tuck a piece of hair behind her apple-colored ear, before sliding his nail towards her cheek to pinch it, tugging it, laughing at her string of "ow's".
