Dear Raivis and Eduard,

I arrived at the training base where be staying, it's cozy and they do treat us well here. We got introduced to our commanding officer Beilschmidt, he is strict but he does have a kind heart. I got introduced to bunk mates, I also got to know them all better, first there's Lovino he's...a little bad tempered and seems to be angry a lot but he's really a kind person. There's Vash, he's a really serious guy and doesn't talk mush if necessary. There's Tino who's a really sweet guy but he's actually really terrifying. And then there's Alfred who is very loud and very obnoxious, but he's really nice and he loves helping others. We all became friends quickly and we liked helping each other with our problems.

We'll be getting our call sign's tomorrow and we'll learn how to fly F-18's! I can't wait! I wonder how you two are doing for the past week. I hope you are well when you respond.

I do look forward to what you'll write back to me.
From Toris.

Dear Toris,

We heard from your first letter and we were happy to have received it. I'm glad they're treating well there, Raivis is happy that you sent the letter. We are both happy that you've made new friends, we can't wait to see what your call sign will be.
I've been promoted at that tech company I told you about. I'll be able to provide for both me and Raivis. We hope do hope that your well being is cared for and that your are taking care of yourself as well.
We hope you respond soon.
From Eduard.

Dear Raivis and Eduard,

I got your letter in the morning but I couldn't really respond until training was done. I was out at 0400, military time, and I was singing the lullaby we would sing to each other when we hand trouble sleeping. Beilschmidt caught me and told me to be ready at 0530.
We were showed to practice how the F-18's works and function. And we surprisingly all pass wonderfully. We finally got our call signs and handed us our helmets. My call sign was Magpie, it's kinda fitting ya know? I would always be the one who put you two to sleep when you would have nightmares. And would sing in the morning at dawn when I couldn't sleep.
Speaking of, I need to sleep right now, but I should tell you that I won't be able to have time to write some days. But I will try my best.
From, Toris.

Raivis couldn't sleep, it's already been a week since Toris's last letter. He sat up and rubbed his eyes.
He was tired, so god damn tired. All he wanted was to sleep and pretend this was all a horrible dream. He walked his way to Eduard's room and knocked on his door.
No response.
He opened the door and saw Eduard sleeping peacefully with his right hand clutching the letter Toris sent.
Raivis shook his head and climbed into the bed and hugged Eduard's side. He hugged him back and smiled in his sleep.

They both slept soundly that night.

The months went by to a year.

Toris's letters were shorter and were written fast like he was in a hurry. He seemed to be well, he was stationed on a aircraft carrier off the coast of Virginia and liked to talk about his and squad mates. According to his letters, tensions and violence were rising higher in the Middle East and that he might be deployed there soon. Raivis couldn't read the letters anymore, all he wanted was Toris to be back home safe.

"Raivis! Raivis!" Fingers were snapping in his face as he jumped.
"P-Peter! Don't d-do that!" He stuttered out.
Peter raised an eyebrow, "I've been calling your name ten times already! I thought you were deaf like my jerk brother."
"O-ok, then what did you want to do?" Peter just shrugged.
"Let's go walk, can we?"
Raivis smiled.
"Yeah, that would be nice."
