2 - Quit

Anu thought the war would be in a closed room but unfortunately it was in the main hall. Noticing all the people stand in the main office including Lavanya, "Oh! So, we are having it in the main room? Wonderful!" she whispered under her breath.

A loud applause from Ms. Lavanya welcomed her. "Welcome, Madam," Lavanya said and asked everyone in the room to clap.

Out of respect towards Anu no one did. Lavanya raised her voice, "I said, CLAP," she ordered and they were bound to follow.

"Oh, so you remember the designation I carry and the position you are in," Lavanya said and Anu looked at her in shock not being able to believe what she just said.

The fume in Lavanya's eyes was exploding like a volcano. "How do you want me to treat you? As your best friend or the CEO?" she asked.

Answering to that question is the least bothered thing for Anu but everyone, who heard the CEO saying that they are best friends, started murmuring.

Noticing her silence, Lavanya further said, "Okay here is your chance. I will give you exactly two minutes - Defend yourself".

The clock was ticking but Anu chose silence over violence.

Everything Lavanya was doing was hurting Anu's self pride. She never allowed anyone to raise their voice in front of her. Today, she was just enduring sh*t like this just because it was her friend who was doing such. Anu said, "I didn't do anything wrong and I am not liable for an explanation".

It didn't take much time for Lavanya to fire back. "Every accused person says that, Anu".

The way she stressed the word 'Accused' caught Anu off guard. After a short pause, Lavanya proceeded saying, "You want me to believe you? — But you didn't believe Aditya when he said the same thing".
