6 - Flashback

Honoring the promise he made, he took her home the next morning. Karthik and Rajesh helped her too. Now it was her responsibility to keep her promise.

After getting in, her first question was, "Where is my baby boy?"

Rajesh took this chance to tease her. "How will he be here all alone? - I guess the doctor didn't treat you properly," he was indirectly saying that she lost her mind.

"I know that he is not here. I am just - wait, did you call me stupid?" she realized it a bit late. After a short pause, "Rajesh, don't forget that I own a revolver," she said.

"Oh. My. God. I am really scared! But wait, with which hand will you shoot?" They started their Tom and Jerry fight right in the morning.

"Guys..." Gautham calmed them down. Getting on the serious vibe, Gautham said, "Anu, you will rest for one month. Then we will go for a revival test. If everything turns out fine, you can do whatever you want. Till then, no stepping out. No working and no meeting Vikram," the rules and guidelines were clearly mentioned.

Anu thought he was going a bit harsh with her. "What if I break the rules?" She was just curious to know.

"Then I am gonna put handcuffs on you," he thought of threatening her but Anu perceived it in a different way.

Having a thought of teasing him, she stepped a bit closer. "Then I am ready to break them at this moment," she said, looking at him with eyes full of love.

Gautham could sense his entire universe getting lost in tiny eyes of hers — Eyes like maze!

His heart pounded loud enough for her to hear. The sudden onset of adrenaline, turned his ears and cheeks red. "Your heart is beating way too fast," she placed her soft palm on his chest and that one touch of hers questioned his entire existence in all languages.

He inhaled sharply in need of oxygen to calm himself down.

Karthik and Rajesh were literally confused. Rajesh knew that she was just teasing him. So, he dived into the scenario to help him. "Will you please stop it? His tender heart is gonna burst out of pressure," he moved her hand aside and that is when Gautham's clock started ticking again.

"Gautham, are you okay?" Rajesh was being dramatic deliberately.

"Oops, I did it again. I played with your heart..." she sang the song by Britney Spears and walked away to her room while their eyes followed her.

"Did she really lose her mind?" Rajesh said.

"I guess so!" Gautham was in extreme shock.

The whole day they were together, standing by and for each other. In the evening, Karthik made some coffee.

"Ma'am, it's time for you to reveal the flashback," he said while handing over the coffee to everyone.

"What flashback?"

"Gautham and yours," Rajesh said to which Anu replied saying, "Oh, that one. Um, where should I start?"

Thinking it out for a while, "I will start with the college days. Gautham and I went to the same law school where we fought for every little thing. Like from parking the vehicle till the topper's position. Then we completed our education and – "

"Who topped?" Rajesh was dying to know so that he can get another reason to tease her.

She looked at Gautham and the rest was understood. Rajesh booed at her failure. He was actually happy that Gautham topped

She ignored him and continued with the flashback. "We got our job then started our professional life. Actually, there was no difference at all – Before, we used to argue between four walls and then started doing it as a profession".
