the wind howled through enid's ears as she sat on the balcony her back pressed against the wall. she slowly slid down and brought her knees to her chest as she hugged them gently.
her hollow heart ached with pain each passing minute and her body desired to be touched by her lover once more.
wednesday.
that name repeated in her mind like a routine. never ending cycle even.
tears started forming in her tired blue eyes that were slowly starting to lose their spark.
enid refused to cry.
she stood up and went back to her dorm.
a pop song filled the dead silent dorm as enid tried to cheer herself up.
it didn't work.
she missed wednesday's sighs whenever she would play such songs and she missed the noise of the typewriter.
enid turned off the radio and crawled into her colorful bed.
''when is she coming back?'' enid asked out loud.
that question is almost as if it's tattooed in her mind. she asks that everyday and never gets a response.
as enid lay there in darkness, turned to her side, she hears a slight movement.
it sounded like the balcony door was opening!
enid's face light up immediately and she jumped out of bed.
she expected to see no other but wednesday standing in their dorm.
however, it was xavier. enid's face dropped.
''hi enid, just wanted to see how you're holding up because of the-''
''don't finish the sentence, i'm fine. why are you sneaking into my dorm like that? enter through the door like a normal person.''
''oh... you're right. i was just passing by your balcony so i figured i would... check on you.''
''that's thoughtful of you, but i would prefer that you leave me alone now.''
enid said as she turned around and went to bed once again.
''right. bye enid.''
he got no response other than sobbing.
xavier decided he would just leave enid be.
as the night progressed enid's pillow was by now dripping wet.
she cried so much and there was no stopping to it.
she just wanted her lover back. she wanted to hear the sweet words wednesday would say to her and that sweet touch upon her skin.
enid embraced herself in her arms as she hugged herself to sleep.
hours past midnight enid was woken up by the same noise.
''xavier, go away.'' enid warned as she didn't bother turning around.
she didn't hear him leave. it sounded to her like he was just standing there in the dorm.
enid had enough and she turned around.
the unexpected happened.
it was wednesday.
