Peter woke up again, same situation, same day. The day that ends in the death of the avengers and his best friend Ned along with too many civilians. Peter sat up slowly and rolled his shoulder, he had another chance and this time he had to remain calm. He took the oxygen mask off his face and sighed. Steve smiled and walked over.

"Hey Peter," Steve said. "How are you feeling?"

"Steve, I think I know how to find out what happened to me last night." Peter started off cautiously.

"So you remember getting shot?" Steve asked.

"Yeah, I remember feeling really off too, but I think Scott might have the answers we're looking for." Peter suggested. He knew that Scott would be the last person to call for this time of problem but Peter had to know what Scott recognized when he looked at his tests.

"Scott, as in Scott Lang?" Steve tried to confirm what Peter had said.

"Yeah," Peter replied standing up. Steve instinctually readied himself for Peter to fall but when he stood normally Cap smiled. "I know it's crazy but can you just go and get him?" Steve stared at Peter, a little worried that Peter thought he had everything figured out when he only just woke up. "Please, just trust me." Peter begged. Tony then woke up and saw that Peter was wide awake and looking better.

"Kid!" Tony exclaimed. "You're up." Bruce stirred and stood up walking over with Tony. Tony's happy smile faltered a moment as he seriously asked, "are you okay?"

"I'm fine Mr Stark, really." Peter said in a chipper tone, despite knowing what was going to happen. "But I think Scott knows what happened to me last night." Tony was glad to know that Peter was alright. "Please Mr Stark, just trust me." Tony was a little confused why Peter thought Scott would have answers but he nodded.

"I'll go see why Thumbilina hasn't shown up yet." Stark said, patting Peter's shoulder and leaving the room. Peter smiled, he was relieved to see that things were working in his favour for once. "But you stay here and rest kid!" Tony yelled from the doorway. Okay, Peter thought, things were working out mostly in his favour.

"Tony's right Peter." Bruce said. "I'm glad you're feeling better but I want to keep you here today." It was just like the first time he woke up. He nodded to Bruce and laid back on the cot. Now he just had to wait for Scott to show up to get some answers.

Steve went to tell the other Avengers that Peter was awake and appeared stable while Bruce fif a basic check up. Once finished Bruce went to work in the corner. This was usually when Peter started his homework but this time he didn't bother. He just laid on his bed staring at the ceiling. He wanted to call Ned to tell his friend to come to the Avengers tower after school, just in case Peter couldn't pull this off. He didn't know if he was running out of chances, he didn't know how it all worked. He just wanted to save those he'd watched die. Every time Peter closed his eyes he saw the plume of smoke, the creator that the explosion had made and wreckage of homes on the edge of the destruction.

"Peter?" Peter sat straight up, it was Scott. Tony was standing behind him.

"Scott." Peter breathed a sigh of relief. "Can you take a look at those?" Peter said and he was happy because he knew there would be no interruption. Unless Thor and Hulk came back from Asgard, but that hadn't happened before. Scott shrugged.

"Sure kid, but I'm probably the last person who can help." Scott said, still he glanced at the screen as asked. Tony nodded to himself, agreeing with Scott's conclusion, but Peter was focused on Scott. "Wait a minute." Scott mumbled and Peter smiled, this had to be it, the answers he was looking for. "This looks like some variation of a Pym particle substance." Scott said and Bruce stood from his chair. (I'm just making this stuff up, so don't get mad that I'm completely inaccurate. I know how it worked in the movie but it's just not how it works in this fanfic, sorry)

"Wait, like the particles you use to shrink?" Bruce said, adjusting his glasses.

"Yeah, but it looks like they've been altered. Now I'm not an expert, but Hank did tell me that they could theoretically be used for time travel, but I don't think that's why they're different here." Scott rambles.

"No." Peter interrupts. "That's exactly why they're different. I've been reliving this day." Peter finally admits.

"What do you mean kid?" Tony said, walking more into the room.

"This is the fourth time I've experienced this day, Mr Stark." Peter simply replies. "And before I explain any further, I think everyone should hear this." Peter looks at his mentor and Tony glances at Bruce and Scott. Then he leaves to gather the Avengers. Noon was approaching and that meant that they were running out of time, that Peter was running out of time.

Fun fact the original name for this story was 'Running out of Time' but I thought the current one was more poetic and ironic. I could explain why, but that makes me feel like an annoying character in some teen movie who ruins the joke by explaining why it's funny. So I'll just promise the next chapter is coming soon and thank you for reading. Goodnight.
