Chapter 13-It's Over

Vision heard Peter tell him that he disabled the shield so he went straight to the core. He disabled it and tried to check in with Peter, but then there was no response. Vision immediately went towards the lab and when he phased through the wall and saw Peter in the middle of the crowd getting beaten Vision began to worry.

"Peter," Vision basically whispered. Peter was still just a kid. Vision flew through the group, picked Peter up and without a moment's hesitation he used the mind stone to blast a hole in the wall. Vision knew it was a bad idea to use the mind stone again, especially after what happened to Rhodey, but he had to get Peter out of that situation. "Tony, I have Peter, he's hurt." Vision said over his coms. "I'll explain, but right now just meet me at the tower." Vision flew over the city with the young hero in his arms, bleeding and bruised. Peter groaned and Vision flew a little faster because he wasn't going to let anything happen to Peter, not after what he'd done. He'd saved everyone.

Peter felt groggy and every part of his body seemed to ache. He heard the faint sound of a heart monitor, but he didn't open his eyes. He needed a moment to think, which was hard cause his head was sort of throbbing. He shouldn't have been able to enter a new loop, but maybe the evil scientist guys had killed him and by some miracle, he got another chance. Then Peter heard Wanda's voice.

"It's 3 am. I know Peter still hasn't woken up, but are you guys going to come eat something? It won't help him if you starve." Wanda's voice was kind, but Peter could hear the slight worry. None of that really mattered to him as much as the time, 3am, it wasn't a new timeline. Peter opened his eyes and groaned, the lights were dimmed as low as they could go, but it still seemed bright to him.

"Peter?" It was Steve and he saw the super soldier standing over him, with Tony at his side. Bruce walked by Peter's bed and went to look at his scans. Peter was getting a little tired of waking up in hospital beds, but this time he felt better. They were alive, and the day was finally over.

"Hey Captain Rogers, Mr Stark," Peter smiled up at them for a moment. Vision and Wanda walked into the room more, both of them smiling as well.

"Kid, thank god you're alright, that was some stupid stunt you pulled, going after all those guys alone."

"He wasn't completely alone Tony," Wanda corrected, leaning on Vision happily.

"I'm so sorry Mr Stark but there was this time loop and an explosion-"

"Take a breath Queens, Vision already explained everything." Steve lightly patted Peter's shoulder, and it didn't hurt that much so Peter was glad to see that his healing was working.

"It was still ridiculously idiotic," Tony scolded, but then his stern expression melted to one of honest relief. "But I'm glad you're alright and that you stopped this explosion."

"You mean everyone is safe? There wasn't any big disaster?" Peter asked, happily relieved.

"The only disaster was trying to explain why you were staying the night and the day again to your aunt," Tony complained. "One of these days, you're going to have to tell her kid."

"I know, I know," Peter groaned. "I'm just not ready... yet." Tony nodded in response and Peter was glad that his mentor was still respecting his decision to keep his identity a secret.

"Well, that aside," Wanda began to say, "thank you Peter." Wanda was wearing a warm smile as she spoke. "Vision told us that I died and that you risked everything to save me."

"Of course Wanda. You're my friend, one of the few I have, and the only one I don't have to lie to." Peter perked up a little. "You encouraged me to restart the day the time before, you wanted me to save Clint and Tony, I couldn't just not try to save them or you." Wanda walked over to the side of the bed that Tony and Steve weren't standing by.

"I'm glad to have you as a friend too," Wanda gently hugged Peter and he knew he made the right decision risking it all. The past few days, or the day, in this odd case, were insane. Peter gained respect from many of the Avengers and an extra day to get some rest after everything he'd been through. Some of his family wanted to know what happened in the other timelines but Peter was vague and didn't really explain. They didn't need to know that he thought he'd lost them for good, or that he died multiple times, and especially not that he killed himself without the guarantee of the new timeline. Those details would stay with him, he preferred the Avengers to be oblivious to what had happened, he was just happy to have them all alive and to have things going back to normal. No time travel, no trouble, no drama. Only thing ahead for him was Homecoming and his decathlon event, but that was just school stuff, how could it possibly be anything but calm?

There you go. One Day at a Time is finished. I hope it's read one day by some people, because I actually think a lot of ya'll would enjoy the story. It hasn't really been edited much cause I wrote it a while back and because of rough mental health I haven't had the energy to post the rest for the longest time so editing it has been out of the question. Regardless though, I thought I'd finish this off for good so as to not leave you hanging if you are one of my few readers. And to those few readers, I thank you. Thanks for reading, thanks for sticking with it, and thanks for (hopefully) enjoying this silly little fanfic. Wishing you all the best,

Sincerely,
