TW//Emotionless Character

Cherith thought 'emotions' were fake. For a great majority of her life, she thought it was one great big lie, that everyone felt nothing but a cold, dull pain inside their heart.

But then she met Pangloss.

Pangloss had what was known as a bleeding heart. He felt for everyone and everything. He cared for the puny humans on Earth, too.

Cherith thought about Pangloss.

'If he can feel emotions, can't I kill him and take his heart to feel what he feels?'

And so,she challenged him to duel.

'Dear Pangloss of the Flame,
I hearby challenge you to duel. You may fight me using any method you may wish. If I win,I take your heart. You win,you may do with me whatever you wish.
Signed, Cherith of the Frost.'

She didn't expect him to take her challenge so...eagerly.

'Dear Cherith of the Frost,
I accept. May we duel with words? I am an avid writer, and that would be my preferred duel method. Stories, poems, you must compete against me to create the best story ever written. May the best writer win, dear lady.
Respectfully,Pangloss of the Flame.'

And so,the two wrote back and forth between each other for decades, writing greater and greater masterpieces, each topping the last.

This caused Cherith to feel some odd feelings.

Rage. She felt that whenever Pangloss was obviously winning.

Happiness. She felt pangs of it as she was reading Pangloss's works.

Jealousy. She knew this one,but it came in worse waves when she saw Pangloss with other female deities.

Sadness. For some reason, whenever she would go long without a new work from Pangloss, she would feel sad.

Eventually,Cherith admitted defeat.

'Dear Pangloss of the Flame,
You win. You win! I can't take this anymore! It hurts....I don't know whats wrong with me,but it hurts. Your writing makes me feel strange and I can't take it anymore. But don't stop sending me it! I feel even worse when I don't have it.
Signed,Cherith of the Frost.'

Pangloss was worried from this, but replied to claim his prize.

'Dear Cherith of the Frost,
I'm glad to know I won,but I too have grown attached to your writing, and I am very concerned for your mental health. For my prize, you are to stay at my place for 5 decades. I hope you enjoy your stay.'

Cherith replied very fast.

'Dear Pangloss of the Flame,
I will arrive as soon as possible. But,it wouldn't be fair if you didn't treat me as your guest and take me out somewhere. Fo you mind if we go to the Serpent's Place Café before I get there?
Signed,Cherith of the Frost.'

Pangloss replied in ernest.

'Dear Cherith of the Frost,
Of course. It would be very rude if I didn't treat an important guest such as yourself when they make a request such as that. I'll be outfront of my house that way we can travel to the Café together.
Signed,Pangloss of the Flame.'

It's been a supereon since then.

Cherith looked at herself in the mirror, she looked gorgeous in her black wedding dress. The dress complimented her beautiful curves, and draped perfectly against her ice blue skin.

She quickly wiped her tears away. She would have to walk the aisle anyways soon.

And she did.

At the end of the aisle, she saw her soon to be husband,Pangloss,in a beautiful white two piece suit. He smiled warmly at her,as he always would when he saw her enter a room.

When the two kissed,it was a perfect intermingling of heat and cold. Cherith melted into the kiss, her whole body soothed by Pangloss, and Pangloss held her back, locking his arms like cold would lock Water molecules in place.

Most people would assume with complete opposites like Cherith and Pangloss getting married,it wouldn't last long.

But it did last.

In fact,the two had Children.

Kenna,a phoenix like girl with a Fiery passion for justice and a total daddy's girl, she was also so sweet and used her heat to help instead of harm.

Edur,an ice cold demon like his mother who loved logical and things that made him use his brain, and a total Mama's boy too.

Cherith smiled.

All over a simple duel, her life changed.

She did get Pangloss's heart, after all.

Just not in the way she had expected.
