Was Samuel Agreste-Toulon even human at this point?
Samuel stared at himself in the mirror, gripping a glass of brandy, with a bottle of bourbon in his other hand. Was it his left or right? He didn't even know at this point. Was he even human? He had merged with Alcatraz matter, his time in Wonderland had left him mutated and warped, and he was from a universe parallel to the one he was currently in.
He knew that he wasn't human anymore. Not after what had happened to him. He looked down at himself. The tank top he was wearing revealed the Lichtenberg figures all over his arms. The electricity he often had been hit by and often used himself had left its nasty marks on him. All the more adding to his distinctive inhumanness. No man should survive being hit with several lightning strike like attacks. No man could survive climbing a Special Tree in Wonderland like he did, no matter how twisted and warped it left him.
He looked at a family photo consisting of him, his twin brother Gabriel, Gabriel’s wife Emilie, Gabriel’s son Adrien, and his own niece Rosalie. He stuck out like a sore thumb in those photos. His nine feet tall stature and the large horns upon his head definitely didn't help. Not that the fangs, tail, and four arms were not obvious enough already.
He was a mutant. A monster. That was the only conclusion he could come to. He then decided on another thing. If he was a monster, something not human, he sure as hell would make GOOD use of it. He used one of his other arms to grab the skull of the old Horned Serpent, his helmet. He placed it upon his head, feeling his clothes becoming a knight’s suit of armor.
Samuel had never liked his hero name. The Horned Serpent, the same being that had mutated him, caused his niece to end herself, and made his life hell. But he was determined to not end up like that monster, the monster George Washington had become. He also had never liked the armor. This was the armor of Frank Sinatra, aka The D-Day Knight. But Samuel was determined to make sure he never became the monster Frank had.
And so, with a flash of light and a loud BOOM of thunder, The Horned Serpent, AKA Samuel Agreste-Toulon, was gone from his room, leaving a spilled glass of brandy and a broken bottle of bourbon behind. He was disappointed he couldn't bring them with him, but who likes a drunken hero?
Samuel Agreste-Toulon isn't human anymore, but he's more human than the monsters who had ruined his life.
