Answers

I'm stunned silent. My breath hitches as my breathing stops. The words that poured out of his mouth scared me. He knew. He knew I was staring at him the whole day. I'm stiff as a statue, mouth slightly open. I stood there for so long, by the time he spoke again, I wondered if I could even respond, thinking my voice was stripped away from me.

"Why were staring at me all day?"

"I-"

"You what?"

"...I had a dream last night, it was something I've never experienced before. Everyone's mouths were moving, but no sound came out and none moved a millimeter. All but one person, and that person was you..."

"What?"

"You only said three words, 'I'm sorry, Izuku' over and over again, staring at the floor. It took me a few moments of standing there, listening to you say those words, that it clicked"

"What clicked?"

"That you regret middle school. I know it was a dream, it could probably be my hope and desire that you really do regret everything, but what if it was trying to tell me something?"

"..."

"Kacchan?"

He walked away, he didn't say that it was just a dream, or that he really did regret it all. He just left me there after he let me speak. And now I wish I didn't.

"And what do you want me to do about it?"

"I want to know if it was actually trying to tell me something, and you're the only one that'd know"

"...Katsuki-"

"Katsuki what? What did it mean?"

"Katsuki called me shortly after he left you there and told me about what happened. He said he knew I knew what the dream was trying to say, and asked me to keep quiet. And you know I don't betray people..."

I stood up in rage, I could've fell backwards due to the force.

"So you knew about it before I came to you? A-and you refuse to tell me what it means all because Kacchan called you up and told you not to say anything? He gives no reason and you comply?"

"Zuku-"

"Don't 'Zuku' me! Kacchan gives you absolutely no reason as to why you shouldn't tell me, and you have no objections? Are you trying to hurt me, too? Are you trying to break my heart just like Kacchan did?"

"Zuku! First of all, he did give me a reason, a reason that was said in few words, but had a big impact. And two, Katsuki never broke your heart. If he did, then why are you so desperate to be close to him, to talk to him, to have him hold you?"

I open and close my mouth multiple times, but no words escape my lips, just like the dream I had. I knew Ray could read me like an open book, but was I really this see-through? Somehow he knew, and probably because he knew, he won't say what I desperately want to know. And what I desperately want to know isn't the meaning behind my dream, but what is inside Ray's mind, what he knows. If I could just have a fragment of the knowledge he holds, all my questions would be answered. But, nothing in life is easy, so I'll just have to jump through hoops to get what I want.

It's been a few weeks since that dream, and I haven't made any progress. What's even worse, Ray and Kacchan are distancing themselves from me. Whenever I text Ray, it's either left on read or he just replies with "Sorry, I'm busy," and since I'm not naive and am smart, they're most likely hanging out together. All of this just gives me a headache.
