His warm breath brushed against my skin, making me shiver.
He slowly walked to the front door, waiting for my decision. Really, getting out of this mess was my only wish.
I turned and walked over to the main door, which Ashton had already opened, so I could go out.
The temperature difference was really extreme.
As soon as we got out, my long hair fell in my face. I tried to get them away but it was futile, they still stayed on my face. I immediately put my hands back in my pockets, the cold wind was really my enemy for now.
My whole face was cold, my nose felt like pinched by the icy wind that blew like pollen in the summer.
Lamps and neon signs of small shops or convenience stores lit up together with cars that left behind dark and thick smoke.
The clouds slowly moved across the sky, covering many stars that looked like the, were painted. The moon, on the other hand , was shining on the whole city and showing its full beauty.
I froze for a few seconds at the sight, it was magical.
I just wanted to stay here and watch everything that was happening on the streets. But Ashton spoke first with pretty good offer.
"How about a stop at a convenience store, we can buy something to eat and go somewhere?"
It wasn't a bad idea at all, the two weren't going to end feud anytime soon anyway.
"Alright, if you can't think of any place, I have an idea. There is a building not so far away from here with access to the roof, the view is worth it."
Ashton smiled and took my hand without any other thoughts. We walked across the street at a fast pace.
"You know that I can take of myself right?! Im not a kid anymore."
"Shut up or I will overthink it. Now let's go."
Oh boy, he tried to be so serious and everything. But...it didn't really work. I could saw his corners of his lips lifting up into a small smile. So, I started to tease him even more.
"Jeez, from a gentleman to a idiot."
"But you like that."
...well, he was right. Something about his arrogance was attractive to me. But there is no way, that I would confess this to him.
His lips escaped a small laught as we continued walking.
~❀~We were in front of the store, trying to go inside but we failed. The door was blocked which was unusual.
We tried to look inside only to see many boxes making a wall. Blocking any small space to look through.
We wanted to go away, to find some other store. But as we stepped from the door, we hearded familiar voice, calling us both to go inside, quickly.
As we hesitated, some older couple pulled us inside. They were very harsh, almost as they were scared of something.
"Are you two okay? Did they do anything to you?"
The older woman asked us in a concern voice. She looked at us with a eyes that were scared, of something.
"I'm so sorry, you must be so confused right now. Just keep calm, we need to stay in here for a while!"
I looked at Ashton, he returned me the stare. He looked as confused as me. I just raised my hands. Both of us were so confused about this 'emergancy'.
"I'm sorry sir, why are we here? Why did you built this gigantic wall in front of the main door?" Ashton was kinda irritated by their silence. But hey, he didn't want to be too cold on them.
