Better off as leafers and not the other way around

I woke up leaf this

I don't even know what happened.

I was just sleeping in a tree trunk with my emo boyfriend, Pete. All of a sudden I felt my body begin to shrink. First my abnormally long legs fused together and began slowly fading into a deep shade of leaf green. I felt my weird new tail? Leg? I'm not even sure but whatever it is I felt it slither into my body until there was only a slight stem poking out from the bottom of my waist. Then my arms fused to the sides. Leaving no gaps. My fingers extended and glued themselves to my stem all the way up to my chest. Like my leg thing, they started to turn green. Then, I experienced the worst headache of my life and screamed for Pete to shove some Aspirin into what was left of my throat. But, nothing came out because my mouth was not there. Nor were my eyes, nose or ears. My face had completely disappeared just leaving my spindly green fingers covering my pointed head lump. My body started flattening out. I had a feeling this is what the concrete in Bob the builder felt like when Roley, the road roller, rolled over it. Was this what flat Stanley felt like? Poor kid.

By this point, I was completely green, flat and holy shit...
I WAS A LEAF.
