General's POV
"Good morning, students! It is such a pleasure to meet all of you. My dear friend has told me so much about your achievements—about how proud he is of his school and his students. He has also mentioned how talented you all are."
I made sure to seem enthusiastic and happy to meet them. I had to put on a show for my dear friend and the others so as not to seem suspicious, even though most of my focus was trained on her. God, she was beautiful.

"Sure, he did... He'll say anything to get a good reputation out," Dwayne commented quietly next to me.
I smiled but kept my focus forward to avoid drawing attention from the teachers watching us. The rest of my friends giggled silently until they were shushed by the "barbie-girls" around them.
Kiss-ass.

General's POV
Damn, that smile of hers. Gorgeous and tempting all at once. Oh, how I would love that mouth—those lips—wrapped around me.
"As you all were told, my name is General Spencer Reed. I am in charge of the Army, Navy, and Air Force sectors of our country. I handle all special ops and consult our president when she needs it or when we have significant problems that need addressing. I also represent our country during the World Wild Organisation meetings.
"Unfortunately, I cannot tell you about our missions or projects as much as I would like to, and as much as I know you would like to hear it..." I continued eagerly, trying my best not to stare directly at her; she was breathtaking.
The school moaned and some cursed under their breath, but I continued despite the interruptions.
"Dr. Harper and I have discussed and decided that as a treat, I will take a few students to train and study under my program. Perhaps one of you will be chosen to study full-time with us; after you have trained a bit, of course. Don't worry, you won't be missing out on any schoolwork, as you will continue your studies at our base with a few extra courses added. You will continue to train and undergo testing like most soldiers do, but it won't be 'real' testing; it will be more like health tests, though we want you to get a real feel for it.
"And yes, you WILL be paid for the time you spend with us. You will also get to see our troops in action. The time you spend there will go towards your college credits and will be added to your permanent résumé. So, I have a list here where you can put your names and emails down; you will be contacted as soon as possible.
"Now, unfortunately, there is a catch... You have to be 18 years or older to apply. Sorry, but with our laws, I cannot take people under the legal age. I have to get back to my base, but I will see you soon, hopefully. Thank you for your full attention."
I ended quickly, which was a relief for most students ready for their break. Others, I noted, were actually interested in signing up—mainly for the money rather than the experience. I made sure to walk over to Dr. Harper and shake his hand as a show of good faith before walking out of the hall and out of sight.

Raven's POV
As he walked, I thought I saw him glance right at me but shook my head at the silliness. In the background, a helicopter taking off could be heard, and the excitement of the assembly increased as if they had seen someone famous. Either that or they hadn't known the school had a helipad. No wonder the seniors from last year wouldn't stop talking about dramatic dance entrances...
