"I've gotta say, I don't think trying to light me on fire was your smartest idea of the night."
Liam walked through the corridors of his school, trying to wipe the images of the berserkers from his mind when Mason came up behind him, startling him out of his trance.
"Liam! Hey. Am I gonna see you at the bonfire tonight? " Mason had a hopeful smile on his face as his best friend just looked around.
"I'm thinking about skipping it." Liam's voice was shaky as he looked around frantically
"You're not skipping." Mason scoffed looking at his best friend
"Why not?" Liam looked over at Mason with a confused look
"Because you're on the lacrosse team. Don't you have to go?" Mason crossed his arms, rolling his eyes at Liam's deflective attitude.
"I don't, uh... I... I don't think I can make it." Liam stuttered, seeing a berserker walking down the hallway.
"You're coming. And we're gonna find you a nice girl that you can embarrass yourself in front of and find me a lacrosse player. Because statistically speaking, someone on your team has gotta be on my team. All right?" Mason said to his best friend who was just staring in front of him with a fearful expression on his face.
"Liam?" Mason snapped his fingers in front of Liam's face who just responded quickly not even sparing his friend a glance.
"Okay. I'll be there." Liam stated before quickly speeding off leaving Mason stunned but content as his friend said he would be there.
