Days passed by and Athena didn't speak a word to Brett. She ignored him at all costs, even going as far as to ask someone to switch seats with her so she didn't have to sit next to him in class. At lacrosse practice she went unnecessarily rough every time he was put up against her and the amount of bones he had to pop back into place because of her was insane
Lori was starting to get suspicious at her brother's mopey behavior and the fact Athena wasn't coming around the pack house like she normally would. So on Friday whenever her brother came home she devised a plan to get them to make up.
"Hey Lori what's up?" Athena's soft voice came through the phone like roses on a snowy day. Lori smiled softly at the sound of the older girl before speaking in return
"Hey I was wondering if you wanted to come over and watch a movie with me, Brett isn't home and i'm bored." Lori tried her best not to sound suspicious which she thought was working until Athena responded
"What do you mean he's not home? His car is parked in the driveway?" Athena sounded a bit suspicious at the younger blonde girls words but Lori was quick to think of a response
"Yeah he was a bit down in the dumps so he went for a run" Athena made an mmmm sound before telling the blonde girl she would be over in 20 minutes giving Lori just enough time to get out of the house
"HEY BRETT IM GOING OUT WITH SOME FRIENDS ILL BE BACK LATER." Lori yelled out to her older brother ignoring his response before sprinting out the door and down the street to her friend Grace's house. It didn't take too long until Brett heard the door open and a familiar voice speak into the quiet atmosphere of his home
"Lori? Where are you?" The red head girl asked looking around the living room, the sound of her voice making Brett's heart pick up speed. He walked out of his room slowly, noticing the rage filled look that crossed her face
"Lori isn't here. She just left to go to her friends house." Brett kept his voice low, not wanting to make the girl angry as he descended down the stairs
"She told me you weren't here." Athena spoke lowly crossing her arms while Brett walked closer to her
"She must've tricked you. Please Athena talk to me." Brett pleaded with the red haired girl, putting a hand on her arm. Anger filled Athena's eyes, the girl grabbing Brett's wrist and pulling it from her body.
"You don't get to touch me." The smell of burning flesh filled the air, Brett wincing but letting the girl continue to hurt him nonetheless
"Don't you see? You're losing control Thea. I was trying to help." Brett pleaded with the girl dropping to his knees in front of her, placing his hands on the back of her legs
"YOU KILLED ME BRETT. WHAT IF YOUR THEORY WAS WRONG. NOT ONLY WOULD YOU HAVE KILLED ME BUT YOU WOULD'VE KILLED YOURSELF BECAUSE YOUR WOLF WOULD'VE DIED. DON'T YOU SEE HOW STUPID THAT WAS?" Athena yelled at the boy, the rage fading from her eyes while tears started to form
"I know Thea. I know okay, i'm sorry. I'm so sorry but please just give me another chance. I promise I'll make it up to you please." The boy pleaded again but the crying girl just shook her head
"I'm not ready to forgive you yet." The girl's voice was low as she removed his hands from her body and turned around, walking out the door leaving the boy with tears still pooling from his eyes
