"You snapped my neck."

"We need to talk" Brett spoke out to the group looking between their confused and horrified faces
"You just snapped her neck" Stiles said pointing at the redhead girl who was still laying lifeless on the couch
"Yeah i'm getting to that" Brett groaned rubbing his temples while Stiles just shook his head
"No like you actually just killed her" Stiles yelled out looking between Scott and Derek who mainly just looked confused
"Does that not kill your wolf?" Derek said walking towards the boy who seemed to be feeling no pain other than guilt
"If she was actually dead then it would but listen closely." Brett sighed making all the werewolf's in the room focus their ears, a faint heartbeat playing through the silence
"She still has a heartbeat" Scott said in disbelief making Stiles look up shocked
"What how? He literally snapped her neck" Stiles walked forward checking for a pulse which made Brett growl at him and Stiles jump back
"I read up on the phoenix species. They're immortal. Often time coming back to life in a pit of fire. I didn't know for sure if it was true so it was kinda 50/50." Brett winced knowing there was a possibility he could've actually killed his mate
"Wait so you snapped her neck based on a 50/50?" Scott questioned looked at the boy who only winced again
"Okay can we stop pointing out the fact that he killed her and talk about what the hell just happened?" Liam stated, nodding at the grateful look Brett shot him
"Okay so last night AJ said a name in her sleep. The name was Nova. Nova Christianson. Thea has never talked in her sleep so it confused me. After some research I found out Nova Christianson was apparently a "schizophrenic" patient who was admitted to eichen house in 1692 during the salem witch trials. They didn't believe she was a witch but she reported hearing voices and eventually killed herself in the hospital." Brett looked at the group who all looked at each other in realization
"That's her telepath." Scott concluded watching at Brett nodded at his words
"Every night since yall unlocked her powers and that tattoo showed up on her chest she's been saying different names in her sleep. A different name every night." Brett pulled out a couple pieces of paper which seemed to be eichen house medical records.
"The first name she said was Charlotte Durazzo. She was apparently a french immigrant who came to beacon hills in the 1700s. Her eichen report said she often times lost her temper and would do sporadic things like lighting matches and even burnt one of the wards to the ground. Her files say's she ended up drowning in the lake right behind eichen house." Brett pulled out a report which had a picture of a beautiful ginger woman who looked like she could've been Athena's mother, the resemblance almost uncanny
"The second name she said was Marco Milena. He was a native here in beacon hills born and raised. He was admitted to eichen house in 1708 after reportedly killing his wife and kids in a fit of rage, coincidentally the night he was reported to have killed his family was the night of a full moon. He ended up being beaten to death by one of the guards at eichen after he tried to attack him." Brett flipped pages showing a file of a dark haired man who looked similar to Derek but not identical.
"My mom used to tell me about him. Apparently he was friends with my great great grandmother. He was the first even born werewolf to reach beacon hills." Derek look surprised but Brett just nodded
"Next she said the name Liliana Constance. She was admitted to eichen house in 1716 after apparently being struck by lightning and going crazy after that. She reportedly taunted patients and even killed a couple guards. Her report says she died of electrocution in the boiler room of eichen not even 3 years after she was admitted." Brett said finally flipping the page to a report that showed a picture of a beautiful brunette woman with completely white eyes.
"And then finally last night she said Nova's name, but this time she sounded fearful." Brett looked up at the flipping the final page which showed a picture of another brunette woman only this one looked sinister. She had piercing blue eyes and a wicked grin on her face. She had a jagged scar above her right eyebrow and what looked to be a scar around her neck
"Okay but how do we know that these specific people are the ones in Athena's mind?" Liam questioned looking at Brett who looked down at the redhead girl and back up at the ground
"All of these people were admitted into eichen and died in eichen within a 10 year gap of each other. Nova was admitted in 1692 and died in 1699, 1 year before Charlotte arrived. Charlotte arrived in 1700 and died in 1707, once again 1 year before Marco arrived. Marco arrived in 1708 and died in 1715, 1 year before Liliana was admitted. Liliana ended up being admitted in 1716 and died 1719, but Liliana was believed to have been murdered. It's a pattern." Brett concluded looking between the group of people who all looked impressed with the work he had done.
"Guys do you hear that?" Malia said cautiously making the werewolves perk up their ears to hear a racing heartbeat, Brett looked behind him to see Athena shaking violently and flames starting to surround her body
"She's waking up" Liam said and as if right cue Athena shot up from where she was laying looking around the room frantically. She looked at every person in the room before her eyes landed on Brett, a guilty look plastered on his face
"You snapped my neck." Athena said, looking at Brett with a death stare before he chuckled humorlessly rubbing the back of his neck
"Welcome back Thea." Brett said nervously, a sad look overtaking his features when Athena stood up and walked straight past him and out the loft door, making sure to shoulder check him on her way past...
