Yes, the spooky season was just yet to arrive, it's been two days since you moved to Haddonfield and the leaves of the trees are falling to the ground and covering the green grass and sidewalks of the small town.
It is now the 22nd of October, nine days until your first trick or treat, well, at least you would try to join it like the others, you needed to socialize.
The morning sun rises, shining your room with a soft dim light that makes you open your little eyes with enthusiasm, another day to be lived.
You scanned the room admiring it for the fifth time in the past few days, everything you wanted was there without even asking, Francis and Amanda had good cash in their pockets for sure to spoil you with belongings.
As you were looking around your eyes landed on the window and across the street where the Myers house was like you did every morning, first looking at the windows and then down to the porch where the Myers boy usually was sitting, staring in silence like usual. For the past two days, you saw him twice or more caring for something in his hands, anything that a kid should not be so interested in such as dead animals or pieces of bones from God knows where.
But that didn't seem to bother you anymore, it was quite interesting now, what he planned to do with them? Maybe bury them in a safe place? Feed a dog? Fur coats? Taxidermy?
Your thoughts were interrupted by the door opening without a knock and Amanda holding a dirty clothes basket.
"Good morning (Y/N)!" She said entering the room and placing your dirty clothes on the floor inside the basket.
"Good morning..!" You said with a shy voice smiling at your mother's bright gaze.
"How was your sleep?" She asked, sitting by the end of your small bed.
"Good!" You stated, turning your eyes back to the front house "I had a dream about Halloween this night.."
Amanda did a small hum as a surprise mechanism to your words "Really..? What was about it?"
Her eyes fell in the same direction as yours, looking at the strange boy across the street calling her attention just like you.
"Look! Isn't that the boy you spoke with?" She asked, looking at now your concentrated eyes on him.
"Yes... I don't know his name but..-" You didn't know what to say next as your mother now placed a hand on your shoulder.
"Hey... why don't you try being friends with him?" She tried instigating you "There aren't many kids around our block and he seems to be a good boy."
"He.. well, I don't know..." You faced her direction concerned.
"I will help you with that! Your father said that the Myers are fine people, he spoke to Mr. and Mrs. Myers a while ago and they would love to have your company around." Your mother said, smiling at you while you kept silent.
There was a few seconds of staring down and then at the boy, Amanda patted your shoulder and then spoke again with her lovely tone.
"They said that Michael, him, needs friends as well, he's not a very social boy and has trouble with making friends." Her eyes fell on the boy once again and then at you.
Michael... was that his name? You finally found out after all.
"Okay..." You only agreed to try your best to not seem uncomfortable.
