The sound of the kids running around and the strong motor sound coming from Carl's car driving through the streets echoed in the town. Feeling the wind blowing against your hair and skin, you watched the neighborhood pass by while the far lights of the car that had been following you two from behind illuminated your eyes.
Looking in the mirror and staring at the figure behind the shadows who drove the car you wondered who was it, they had been around the whole ride, truly suspicious.

"We're almost there!" Carl told you with a smile, making you look away from the mirror at him.

"Finally..." You signed, with a half smile "You should stick around you know... It would be super fun!"

Carl chuckled at your offer "I told you, love, I can't. I have some other plans for tonight"

You clicked your tongue at him, disappointed "Drink all night until morning? Sure, what a plan"

"Come on mate you're doing the same thing with your pals, why I can't?" He looked at you annoyed while still driving.

"Am not! If they are, am not! Hate getting dizzy anyway" Crossing your arms you turned your gaze back to the mirror, not seeing the usual light or the car illuminating anymore, it was gone now.

"You and Laurie are very polite ain't that right?" He chuckled, parking the car some feet away from Doyle's residence "We here"

Taking a deep breath you looked around, deeply staring at Carl's eyes like a last way of begging him to stay, just one time in life. His smile grew bigger seeing you so desperate for company, but not even a thousand puppy eyes would convince him to stay around, he wasn't a big fan of Lynda's boyfriend. Either babysitting.

"I am sorry (Y/N), I'll owe you one after this, just... Just go love!" He opened the door for you, with a smile still painted on his face.

"You're a jerk..." Getting yourself up and stepping on the street you rolled your eyes at him.

"My pleasure darling!" He turned the car back on again.

You stared across the street at Annie's car which was also parked in the garage, assuming they were all here already you rushed yourself to the house Laurie was in while Carl followed you slowly, driving like a slug waiting for you to get inside.
Going to the porch of the house you knocked on the door and waited for a response, crossing your arms for warmth while staring at Carl.

"You can go now, you know, I'm fine I won't beg you anymore!" You told him while shaking your head negatively.

He giggled, resting his arm on the window "Might as well watch you get inside safe, you got me a bit worried at the Myers house, you know...?"

The door behind you unlocked, making you flinch in surprise "Shut up..."

Once the door was open you were welcomed by a smile from Laurie, she also welcomed your friend by waving her hand at him shyly, but of course, with a little smirk at you.

"Laurie..!" Carl waves back with no shame.

"You're earlier (Y/N), I guess Wilson helped you get earlier huh?" Laurie commented to you, still smiling.

"Yeah yeah, Carl gave me a ride here! Let's get this started so" You rushed inside, giving one last smile and to your old friend "Bye!"

"How rude!" Laurie followed you, closing the door slowly and also waving bye to the boy.
