."(Y/N)!?" Amanda called your name as you rushed to wear the tight clown shoes.
When it finally got in after so much struggle you let a frustrated cry out and grabbed the other pair to wear it quickly.
"I'm coming, Mother!" Screaming back at her didn't help with your frustrations.
She came into the room holding your pumpkin basket and some extra things she got at the Halloween store the day before that night. Amanda held a worried smile as this was your first event, she knew that even with her and Michael's company you would still have trouble with the other kids as you had been having it since you decided to be your friend's shadow.
Your father told you many times to be more... Open when finding new friends and that only being always focused on Michael was not healthy for you and him.Focusing on him was your main purpose since even for a five-year-old you knew that he had zero social skills and friends, so why not give him the attention he needed? Was that useless?
You don't care about this right now, dealing with this God damn shoe was what you wanted to focus on."Mom, please help me! I-I'm struggling with it!" You cried to your mother with puppy eyes.
Amanda kneeled at you "(Y/N), you need to untie the shoe before wearing it." With her fingers, she untied the shoe and helped you wear it again.
You could not wait any longer to run across the street and drag your neighbor around like a toy, you were excited, and you shook with anticipation.
Francis came to the room soon after and saw you shaking like a maraca "(Y/N), calm down! Is not that Michael will run away or anything."
He giggled at your anxiety and you could only shake more as Amanda was taking forever to tighten your shoes.
"You're going to kill someone like this (Y/N)." Your father said while he took a bite out of a chocolate bar.
"God damn shoe!" Amanda screamed annoyed when she finally tied her shoe.
You felt alive as she finally left her hands off your feet.
"Aren't his parents out right now?" Francis asked your mother raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, Edith told me they had to stay at work until eight." Her eyes fell on your alarm as she told Francis "They will be back in thirty minutes."
"I see, what about that cake of yours in the oven?" Your father sarcastically asked making your mother go pale as a ghost.
"Fucking bullshit!" Amanda raised to her feet and ran towards the chicken.
He followed her leaving you finally alone "Hey-hey-hey watch your language!"
You smiled alone hearing both of them argue about the stupid cake downstairs, as you crawled to your bed and grabbed a small photo under it where you kept a little box with important things another smile rose on your lips.
It was a photo of you and Michael in front of his house holding a teddy bear you had been given by your parents that same day.
