A bird singing at your window woke you from the deep dream you were having.
A dream about the past, about him, an old memory being revived by yourself that could only be replayed inside your sleeping mind.

Taking a deep breath and feeling the cold air inside your lungs you dared to look back at the window of the Myers house, but you didn't, you just lifted yourself slowly and walked to the bathroom for your daily self-care routine. Even in the daylight, you could still feel the gaze of that figure in the darkness, it burned like fire.

You went downstairs after using the washroom with an enormous hunger growing inside your stomach, and unfortunately, the dining table was empty, with no sign of any of your parents.
The clean plates that were used for dinner yesterday lying on the counter made the odd feeling of regret for not feeding yourself that night come in quickly, your stomach was begging for something desperately.

"Good morning darling!" Your mother suddenly appeared, she held a basket of dirty clothing and a smile on her face. She got you off guard pretty well "You woke up late today."

With wide eyes, you looked up at the clock above you, it was 11:20 am, and of course, you slept a lot more than you wanted "God... My body probably needed that."

With a giggle, your mother placed the basket on the floor and handed over to you some money "Well, take this and buy some food for yourself. Your father won't be home today for lunch and we need to buy some more supplies before Halloween night."

"I see." You nodded.

"I'll be going to the supermarket this afternoon, I have a busy day ahead so you will be free to... Do whatever darling!" Amanda cleaned her shirt while washing her hands quickly.

Lifting an eyebrow curious at her, you came closer "What plans do you have for today anyway?"

"I have a meeting in the church that I will be going to after shopping, and I'll also give your aunt a visit, your dad is doing extra work today as well and I think we will be only back at seven." She gave you a heavy bag filled with sweets that made your mouth water with all the possible flavors "If you can also prepare some candies for the children I would appreciate it!"

"Sure!" You grabbed one for yourself and placed it inside your pocket "I'll go check the cafeteria nearby and eat lunch over there, do you want me to bring anything for you?"

"Oh no, everything is for you darling, and don't worry about skipping a day of work, I've spoken with the... Principal..." Her tongue flicked and her eyes flooded with anger, you decided to not push it further and just agreed.

With a nod and a small smile at her, you placed the candies on the table "Alright, after I come back, I'll prepare the candies."

"Okay, sweetie!" Amanda quickly left upstairs but not before kissing you on the forehead "I will be upstairs at the room resting!"

Her voice was fading away while she quickly stormed upstairs in her short comfortable heels as you stood there with another candy in hand and a deep breath coming out of your heavy lungs.
Looking back at the door behind you and starting outside, you wondered what happened to the key you swore you had in your hands before going to the bathroom, you never locked it, and neither did your parents, so who did it?
A grumble coming from your stomach interrupted your questioning, you were hungry so maybe figuring that out later was the best. Now, you only wanted to enjoy a meal at the local cafeteria before it was bombarded with teens.
