Odette

Looking out the window the snow began to stick to the ground. I loved winter in the forest everything turned white and the village had a big bonfire to celebrate another year in peace. It was always a rule to never leave the forest or you'd become a slave by the evil humans

We lived deep in the woods protected by the forest and magic the fairies casted over us decades ago. After the war ended it was their only way of protecting us from king Edwards reign.

"Odette, make sure you get some water before the river freezes" my grandmother yelled grabbing my attention

I put my boots on and walked with her outside. She lived in the village with the other fairies but I enjoyed staying out here alone. Being in nature was great and some of the other fairies were a too much to handle

"Thank you for coming over" I hugged my granny as we walked down the trail

"I have to check on my favorite grand baby" she said grabbing my cheek leaving a kiss on the side

"I'm your only grandchild" I laughed walking up the road

"Yes, stay safe out here Odette" Granny gave me a serious look once we made it to the end of the trail.

Nodding my head we hugged before I sent her off as she went the other direction back to the village. I turned around and disappeared into the forest it was getting dark but I could handle myself out here. Passing the tall trees I started to hear the waterfall and skipped excitedly

Getting close to the river I pulled out my bucket and placed it in the river. The stream was running fast and after filling my bucket i decided to take my boots off and go in the river. Walking closer to the lake I ran my hands through the stream and watched the fish dance around. There was something floating in the water and I became curious walking towards it.

As I got closer I noticed it was a boot attached to a lifeless body. I began to panic as the water pushed the creature towards me and I was able to get a closer look. It was a human! A man at that...

I grabbed his boot and dragged him out of the water. It was odd for a human to be this far in the forest. I wonder if he got lost. Where was his kind? He couldn't have been alone?

Once I got him out of the water I checked his pulse and he was breathing but it was faint. His skin was extremely pale and body felt ice cold. This was going to be hard to carry him back to my house the only solution I could come up with was drag him.

Picking up my bucket I began pulling him by his foot. This human was very heavy and I was regretting my decision but nonetheless I pulled him through the woods and made it back to my cottage. He had snow all over his back and once we got inside I rushed to run the hot water. If I know anything about humans their bodies are weak to the cold so I had to hurry

Running the tub I went back to him and began peeling his clothes off. The man had many layers on and they were wet and heavy. He looked like a noble and I started to worry. If he's a solider then he knows the king and that could mean trouble but I couldn't leave him out to die...

Getting out of my thoughts I was able to remove everything but stopped once I got to his undergarments. I've never seen a man... indecent. I had to undress him fully though because all of his clothes were wet and he had to get in the bath

I lifted him up again and walked over to the bathroom. The man was ten times my size but I was able to dump him in the bath tub. Closing my eyes I took off the last parts of his clothing and placed a towel over his area. The water was hot enough and I began scrubbing him there was blood at the back of his head and it looked like somebody tried to kill him

After I bathed him I found some old some old clothing and started to dress the man. Luckily the clothes fit perfectly and i placed him on my bed. He was still unconscious but his body temperature was normal. I ended up cleaning his wound and did a bit of stitches to stop the bleeding. Mashing up some herbs I made an antidote for his body to gain strength and left him to sleep

Stepping out the room I let out a big breath. I have a human man in my bed... oh lord what am I going to do? He was a handsome fellow though I've always been told they are not to be trusted something inside me screamed that I help him. If the forest didn't want him here he would have idea. I had no idea where this would leave me but trusting my gut I fell asleep on the couch
