                                                                                      A week later

Odette

I held Eric had as we walked through the woods. We were finally able to the leave the house after what felt like forever inside. Though I enjoyed our moments inside we needed fresh air and it was time I show him around

"Are we almost there" Eric asked getting tired of walking. Its been about 15 minutes but the night lights were further west and I wanted to get the best view

"Almost" I giggled dragging him through the snow

It was official pitch black outside but once I saw the stars in the sky shine I knew we were close. I started to walk faster dragging Eric behind me. Exiting the woods we came upon an open field that was used for traveling with mountains surrounding it

The sky was turning blue has the moon shined and the stars became clear. Around this time of year the stars shined the most over the white snow. I looked at Eric as he had a huge smile on his face I knew this place would be perfect as he told me how much he wanted to explore the forest. I even brought the little pocket book he carries around

"Here" I said handing the book

He looked at me and pulled my body into a big hug

My heart melted from action. "Come on, lets get somewhere warm" I pulled away walking towards the mountains

We entered a cave and Eric looked around in awe. I started a fire inside and we sat watching the sky glitter. Eric pulled out his notepad and began to draw as I laid on his legs watching. I never thought I'd find comfort in the arms of a human but here I was. What would my parents think? Would they be disappointed or happy?

It didn't matter anyways because I was here happy. "Odette I've never seen anything like this" Eric cheered

 "Its called Auroa Borealis"

"What language is that?" he asked pausing from his notepad

"Latin, its our first language"

"No way! My mother used to say there were theories that fairies had a secret language but all the elders said it wasn't true" I laughed at his comment the humans love to lie about that our history

"Do you guys not see stars in the kingdom?" I asked

"Sadly not. Somedays I feel a dark cloud looms over the land because mother nature is punishing us for the war"

"Mmmm, I understand that. I love the forest but it tends to feel like were trapped"

"You feel trapped?" Eric asked looking confused

"I know its a shocker but everything is the same  out here"

I lifted my body and stared at him "can you keep a secret?"

"Odette, who am I going to tell? Your my only friend" I laughed with him

"Right... well sometimes I used to go to the border and just stand on the opposite side. I know its dangerous but I couldn't help myself. I would  get these visions in my dreams that we lived in harmony but whenever I told the other fairies they always laughed"

Eric gave me a calm smile, "every year that we went on those hunts I always wanted to stay in the forest longer so you're not crazy"

My eyes lit up from his words... more and more I believed we were meant to meet

"You always find a way to make me feel normal" I giggled

"Because you are Odette" he smiled as went back to watching the stars
