chapter one.

"Akira come on warm ups about to finish!" I hear Mei exclaim clearly getting impatient, "Sorry i got distracted" I say pulling my skirt up a bit while exiting the changing stall.

We're talking about the upcoming game when I pat my skirt pockets to realise I forgot my phone, "shit my phone, i'll be back" I say running back to the building, "seriously?" Mei calls jokingly watching my figure retreat back to the changing rooms we'd just left, "Sorry" I yell back sheepishly.

The second I get to the pale building I immediately grab my gym bag and rummage through it for my phone, "gotcha" I mutter only to see that it's turned off.

"Mei did you turn off my phone? it's just gonna make me take longer" I make my way out not while rolling my eyes and trying to turn the device back on.

"Mei? you bitch, I told you to wait" I laugh picking up my pace towards the once crowded field.

"Hello? There's a game in like ten minutes, I know i was tardy but this is extreme" I yell realising there's not a single person here.

"Mei! i'll call your mom and tell her what you did on Sunday if you don't come out" I tease knowing her moms the mother equivalent of Ms. trunchball from Matilda.

Through even through that I get no response, i purse my lips and look around. Someone's parent is bound to show up soon, that'll scare them out, surely.

Though that was my mindset 20 minutes ago, I was left sitting on the field bleachers trying to get my phone to power on and waiting for someone to come, I know it's unlikely at this point but what am I gonna do? Sulk until someone comes out?

It starts getting cold and I roll my eyes thinking of what the fuck could be happening, it could be a prank on one hand but it would've gotten old by now and the faculty members would've started coming out or I could just be having a really fucked up dream. Who knows what's happening? I sure as hell don't.

I sigh before heading back to the gym and grabbing my jacket.

the distraught and confused look never leaves my face as I wander the now empty streets of Tokyo.

It's honestly unbelievable, and i'm still weighing options as to what's happening. Maybe my life's a simulation and it's glitched out or i've been abducted by aliens to test my survival instincts.

Soon enough i'm home, moms gone, dads gone, even the dogs gone, I huff.

At this point i'm more angry then anything, why is this happening to me? Me of all people, i'm a pretty decent person.

Sure I have my fair share of sins, bullying and light teasing but there are people so much worse then me, it's unbelievable.

I'm ready to call it a day, go to sleep and wake up to be met by my parents asking how I slept through a whole day of my life, i don't even bother to change out of my cheer uniform

Although while lying in bed I wasn't greeted by the view of sleep, rather random buildings lighting up and red lasers splitting from the sky?

I lower my eyebrows and get up from bed puzzled at the sight, I stare for who knows how long as different lasers ascend from the sky into the buildings which somehow magically have power.

I battle myself in my head weighing all the different variables of what's happening and what i can do before settling on one thing, those lit up buildings might give me a chance at leaving this isolated hellhole.
