Part 45: Heartbreak

Cut to black, and a blurred, echoing voice is heard.

Pyrrha Nikos: Do you believe in destiny?

As Pyrrha speaks, small white circles, again blurred, move slightly around a center screen that remains black.

Cinder Fall: Yes.

Pyrrha: Jaune?

Ruby Rose's voice is heard shouting Pyrrha's name, just as she had when her latent power activated at Pyrrha's death.

With a gasp, Ruby open her eyes. She's lying in a red sleeping bag on a clearing in some woods. Nora Valkyrie and Lie Ren are also in sleeping bags around a long burned-out campfire. Y/n was nowhere to be seen. Ruby sits up and looks around. Birds can be heard tweeting and all seems peaceful. Ruby, however, puts her hand to the side of her head and sighs as though she's in pain.

She starts to become more aware and darts up becuase she was nowhere to be seen. She looked around and saw A small glimpse of Y/n looking at the moon on the ground. She silently sighed in relief.

She got up and started to walk towards him. Y/n took notice and looked at her confused.

Y/n: Yes?

Ruby: What are you doing so far away from us?

Y/n: Well I just-

Ruby: Wait...

She looked at her scroll to see it was 4 AM In the morning. She was meant to be woken up by Y/n and take over on watch an hour ago.

Ruby: (Whispering loudly) Why didn't you wake me up!?

Y/n: I can't sleep.

Ruby: Why?

Y/n: Because were so close to Cayde. I cant get a signal through Plus I wanted you to have some extra sleep today.

Ruby: What did I say about not waking me up Y/n. Plus, We should be there by tommorow.

Y/n: I know... I guess I'm just overthinking stuff.

Ruby: (Picking him up) Or, your just tired.

Y/n: (Yawned) Well... I cant sleep.

Ruby: Oh really?

Their brief walk came to a close and She tucked Y/n in bed.

Y/n: (Groan) I'm not a baby.

Ruby: (Grabs cheek) Hehe.

I chuckled and pulled away. She laid next to me. She put her arms around mine and hugged tightly.

Ruby: Love you, Y/n.

Y/n: Love you too, Ruby.

All four members of Team RNJR And Y/n walk down a sunny road. Ruby is in front, looking at a map.

Ruby: So the next town is... uh-huh... uh-huh... We're lost.

Y/n: We don't even need a map. I know the way to Shion.

Jaune: My family used to visit it all the time.

Y/n: I don't know how I haven't met you before then.

Ruby: Wait. Don't you have, like, four sisters?

Jaune: Uh, seven.

Ruby giggles.

Nora: You know, that actually explains a lot.

Y/n: It does indeed.

Jaune: Wait, what do you mean?
