cruel play date
you don't play with me
you're no fun
won't share your toys with me
won't make me laugh
the grown-ups tell me to suck it up
make a move, make a friend!
and so i take a step, trip over my shyness
it's a dead end
i grow to be a loner
but my dolls want company
call me on the phone now
come, play with me
keep me busy, keep me happy
make my days shine gold and bright
find my heart, learn how it's beating
pull me close and hug me tight
you can bring your puppy
show me all his tricks
don't hesitate to befriend me
before you'll leave just like the other kids
