~Abby~
It's finally time for Connor and I to head back to California. The sadness that had washed over me was overwhelming but I ignored it as much as I could. I didn't want to be sad seeing my 5 best friends after a month.
"Ready to go, Abby?" Connor asked as he stuffed my bag into the trunk of Jennifer's car.
I looked back at Jennifer and Terrance's house once more, "yep." I sighed.
I got into the car and looked out the window, it's another rainy day. Shame, really.
Connor sat down beside me, "I can't believe it's been rainy all month." He sighed, crossing his arms.
I sighed, "I know. Hopefully California will be sunnier." I laughed shortly.
"Yeah."
Terrance smiled at me from the front and I returned one.
"Okay, I'm ready to go!" Max yelled as he got into the backseat of the minivan.
I sighed and looked back at Max happily, "I'm gunna miss you." I told him with a smile.
He smiled back and tried to brush is shaggy hair away with his casted arm. I laughed at him. "You'll call right?" He asked, tapping on his cast.
I patted his knee, "of course." I smiled sadly then turned around, facing back out my window.
"Well then, let's get this show on the road!" Jennifer said and pulled out of the driveway.
Connor pulled me in for a nice side hug and kiss my temple, "everything will be alright." He said, smiling down at me.
I hugged him tightly back, "I hope so." I sighed.
"Don't worry, it will be." He said reassuringly.
"So, Abby, Connor, are you guys excited to go back to Cali?" Jennifer asked us, peering at us from the rear view mirror.
I shrugged but smiled, "yeah, I want to see everybody again. I miss them." I admitted honestly.
Connor smiled, "yeah, me too."
The ride wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Lots of chatter, laughter, singing and even some weird dancing.
"Jennifer, turn down the music please, im getting a cellphone call." I asked over the pounding music.
She nodded and turned it down very low. I answered my phone, "hey darlin'" my mom said as I put the phone to my ear.
I smiled, "hi mom." I replied, chipping off my sparkly nail polish.
"What's up sweetie? Making your way to the airport?" Mom asked kindly. I picture her doing something while talking to me, like cooking or watching tv. I don't know, it just seems like her.
"Yeah, Connors here too. Wanna talk to him?" I asked and looked over to Connor, who's eyes were focused on me.
I heard mom gasp in excitement, "yes!!"
I turned it on speaker, "hi mum!!" Connor yelled excitedly.
Because of what happened with Terrance and Jennifer, we didn't see mom and dad much. We saw them a bit, but not as much as we should of. Now, I feel guilty.
"How are you honey?" Mom asked happily.
"I'm good, we're almost at the airport!!" Connor said.
"Good sweetie, I'm glad you came down." Mum cooked through the phone.
Connor started talking about some random thing and I tuned him out, humming the tune of Something From Nothing by The Foo Fighters.
