mia starfury has been wandering the earth for months with her stepbrother, nico di angelo, on a quest to understand why the great prophecy is what it is. she's done a lot in the months after she's betrayed all of her friends — gone to multiple countries on an adventure to find out all of her and nico's powers and their extents, just go to pretty places for the fun of it, and learn more about the secrets of the gods and why they're there. like the camp for roman demigods that exists. mia's had fun throughout the months, especially since she and nico understand each other, and hazel is a really nice sister, and mia's felt free for the first time in a long time, even if she wasn't technically free from the burden of betraying her friends.
and then one of the people that she'd betrayed showed up in her life again, and completely fucked it up.
