C h a p t e r E i g h t- Obstacle Cource

With the sports festival being two weeks away we were all training our hardest. I have to impress the pros if I want to get scouted.

They won't give us information on the trials until we are there so everyone is preparing for every scenario.

Me, I've been working in the open field with Denki. My hope is that I can lengthen the amount of electricity that I use without passing out or having a heat stoke.

Training made things go by in a flash. It was now the morning of the sports festival.

My Dad woke me up like usual. He gave a me a lecture speech about how important this is and how proud he was of me.

I made it to the school and we all had to change into our gym uniforms. This wasn't good. Luckily in training I have gotten used to it a little more, but I was at a disadvantage. The other thing was I'm pretty sure my costume wasn't exactly school appropriate.

We all sat in the waiting room for us to enter the arena soon. I was so nervous I couldn't stop bouncing my legs. Mina and Denki had to ask if I was okay. They tried to distract me from the festival which I was grateful for.

I could hear President Mic on the intercom introducing us. We all walked onto the stage with our heads held high. I looked up at the crowd and my knees got a little weak. I've had a little stage fright since I could remember. Denki noticed this and grabbed my hand giving it a squeeze. I let out a shaky breath.

" C'mon you got this. There's nothing to be nervous about," He said reassuring me. I gave him a thankful smile.

The other classes were introduced and we all piled onto the field.

Oh god. Midnight was this years umpire. All of the boys cheeks were pink. Well great.

" Uh. Someone should talk to midnight about what she's wearing," Kaminari said to my right.

" Yeah. That costume should come with a warning," Denki added to my left.

" Is that really appropriate apparel," Tokoyami commented next to Denki.

" I mean it's not any worse than mine," I mumbled.

" Well you kinda have to or you get heat stroke. Speaking of... how well do you think you'll hold up with the uniform," Denki asked.

" To be honest I have no idea"

" Silence everyone!" Midnight commanded. " And for the student pledge, we have Akari Hakamada."

I completely froze up. What?!!!! No! I'm not the first year rep, am I?

Midnight looked at me knowing who I was. I shook my head. I couldn't do it.

Getting the hint Midnight cleared her throat. "Change of plans! The runner up Katsuki Bakugo!"

I let out a deep sigh of relief and my body turned to noodles causeing Denki and Kirishima to catch me.

Everyone began discussing what just happened and trying to see who Akari Hakamada was.

I then realized the situation. Crap! Bakugo was now at the microphone. There was a few seconds of silence before he began, " I just wanna say...I'm gonna win."

I knew it! I should have gone up there. I'm sorry class.

The rest of UA students went into an uproar.

" Why would you be so disrespectful! Your representing us all," Iida yelled.

" Not my fault the rest of you are just stepping stones to my victory," Bakugo shot back.
