Meurig Ephraim
His first name, pronounced MAY-rig, is from Old Welsh Mouric, which is possibly a Welsh form of the Latin name Mauritius. His family name, pronounced EEF-ree-əm, is derived from the Hebrew name 'Efrayim meaning "fruitful".

Rigs
Not many people around him are familiar with his name, so they usually end up shortening it to Rigs. It was weird to him at first why they needed a nickname, but eventually, he unconsciously started using and responding to it more often than his actual name.
May / Maybelle
He will take this nickname to his grave. He was neutral about it at first, but after losing a bet and cross-dressing as "Maybelle" for a day, he didn't like it so much. [ Fun little tidbit story expanded in the other section if interested, I just randomly had the idea at 3am :> ]
