His first name, pronounced RU-NO, is the French form of Reynold and was used in medieval French literature for the hero Renaud de Montauban. His family name, pronounced LAM-prekht, is the German variant of Lambert, which is derived from the Old German elements lant "land" and beraht "bright".

Renaud is a pretty casual person. He carries a nonchalant attitude at almost every setting, which to a lot of people ends up portraying the man as lazy and idle. It makes you forget he's technically the headmistress' assistant, an important figure that's integral to the academy's functionality. But the lack of a domineering personality gives an ambivert like him opportunities for better conversations, to be honest. It's easy talking to students, teachers, and parents alike about anything, regardless of their significance, when they don't view him as an authoritative figure.
