- Ryonan POV -

Before I could lose consciousness, a gun floated in front of me. A gun... I quickly took it, trying to hit open the lock. I slowed my heart down for more breath, ignoring the pain.

The more energy I gave up trying to open it, came with taking the energy to slow my heart down. I grunted, slowly stopping but then I thought of my Lo'ak. My sweet... Lo'ak. With all the power I could muster up, I hit the lock once more and it opened.

Quickly, the room filled with the glowing fish and one of the jellyfish came up. I put it on quickly, now feeling able to breathe. I followed the path of the fish outside and soon let go of the jellyfish, being able to breathe long enough to swim all the way up.

I surfaced and breathed hard. Once I was able to control my breathing, I saw the family on Payakan's fin to my left. Payakan thrilled happily, making the family turn to me. "RYONAN" Lo'ak yelling, immediately swimming towards and hugging me. "Lo'ak" I sobbed and he just hugged me, "It's ok.. i'm here now" He hugged me tighter.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't there sooner.. i'm so sorry" He whispered.

-  a few minutes later

We were back on the rock with Neteyam, the whole family was mourning. Spider climbed up a few minutes later, "are you ok?" Jake asked, and spider nodded. He hugged Spider and Lo'ak stood next to them. Jake brought Lo'ak into the hug, "A son... for a son.." I heard Jake whisper.

- hours later

We were giving Neteyam back to the ocean. We carefully carried his body to Ancestors Cove. And the village watched as we swam away.

- at the giving place

Neytiri and Jake carried Neteyam down into the giving. We all stayed up top, only peering our heads down to see Neteyam get covered by the lights.

I watched as he was taken away, the pain in my heart slowly disappearing as he did. I turned to look at Lo'ak who started to cry. "Lo'ak.." I whispered and I lifted his head up from the water.

"Ryonan" He sobbed and I held his face, "My Lo'ak" I smiled sadly as tears started to fall from my eyes, "I don't know what to do" He cried, "Then... why don't you kiss me..?" I muttered and he let out a cry laugh.

"I see you" I said as I slowly put our foreheads together, "Neteyam is with us" I smiled, ignoring my tears and Lo'ak sniffled, closing the gap between our lips.

- the spirit tree

I slowly attached myself to the spirit tree leaf, allowing myself to go into my consciousness. I closed my eyes slowly.

- ...

I opened my eyes to see myself standing on a big rock. I walked up to see Neteyam sitting down near the edge. "Netey" I lightly gasped and smiled. He turned his head and smiled, "Ryonan! You said you were going to help me practice my breathing and you will, right?" He asked and I couldn't speak so I nodded.

I sat down close next to him, and I helped him practice his breathing. "No Neteyam, from here" I put my hand on his chest and he chuckled sheepishly, "Sorry, i'm not really used to controlling my breathe"

His laugh and his smile was enough to make me start crying, "Why are you crying?" He asked worriedly. I tried to wipe my tears away but they just didn't stop so he wiped them away, "Do not cry my sister.." He frowned. I put my hand on his, "Yeah.. sorry" I smiled.

Suddenly, I just had a feeling it was time for me to go, "I have to go now Neteyam.. i'll see you soon" I got up and he tried to reach for me, "Wait!" He yelled but I kept walking. Everything around me turned into a bright white light.

- ???

Then, I was on the island I was on not too long ago. I went to the middle, "My child" She spoke, "Do you understand me now?" Eywa asked. I wiped my tears and nodded, "But why him..?" I muttered, "Everything has a reason, your species doesn't understand all of them and I would like to keep it that way.. Thank you for seeing me, child" I heard her smile.

-

I opened my eyes and disconnected from the leaf, turning to swim back to the surface. I listened to the waves and looked at the eclipse. I closed my eyes and breathed out.

- 1 MONTH LATER - THIRD PERSON POV -

"We miss you" A soft whisper was spoken by Ryonan. She was at the rock she previously was on with Neteyam, practicing their breathing. 2 and a half months since she met the Sullys, 1 month since Neteyam has passed, 2 weeks Lo'ak and Ryonan have been liking each other.

"Sis, Lo'ak is calling you" Tsireya, her sister, called from the sand. Ryonan kissed her fingers and put it on the rock, "May Eywa be with you" she whispered once more before getting up and going back to the sand.

"Where is he?" She asked, Tsireya answering with the treehouse. "Have fun!" Tsireya winked before walking away to her friend, Tepal. Ryonan let out a soft chuckle and left to the treehouse.

"Ma Lo'ak" She called as she approached the treehouse. "Hey cutie" Lo'ak smiled from the balcony, sitting down near the railings. Ryonan smiled, "What are you doing up there?" She asked.

"Come up, I wanted to talk" Lo'ak answered and she did as she was told, sitting down next to him on the balcony. Eclipse was starting, they held hands.

"How was your day?" Lo'ak asked but Ryonan looked skeptical, "What are you doing?" She asked. He looked away embarrassed, "What..? I just wanted to see you" He pouted, making her laugh.

"Ok ok, I see" She smiled and kissed his cheek. Ever since they kissed on the giving of Neteyam, they haven't kissed on the lips at all. It's always been small pecks on the cheek or something like that.

He looked at her and smiled, "I like you" He whispered, glancing down at her lips for a second. "...I like you too, Ma Lo'ak" Ryonan kept her smile
"...a lot?" He asked and she nodded, "a lot"

"Then... be with me..?" He asked, holding her hand tighter. Her smile dropped, "..." she was silent. A smirk formed on her lips, "I will always be with you" She kissed him on the lips and he kissed back almost instantly.

Everything has a reason..

This family coming to the Metkayina, has a reason.

Neteyam dying, has a reason.

Ryonan being my one of my children, has the biggest reason.

That is my power, The Power Of Eywa.
