"Even though you know you're walking into a trap, you still match on like a fool", commented Zombo as I sat upon a pile of dead zombies of various types with blood all over my clothes and face while looking at the bloodstained Jack knife engulfed in some bluish aura reflecting Zombo's face on the blade.

"There's no other way", I replied while wiping the blood off my face with a handkerchief, "I currently have no leads whatsoever, so if the only lead I have is a dream, so be it".

"I knew it. Convincing a fool is pointless after all. That aside, you really are the bigger monster here".

I sighed and looked back to see the league of corpses beneath me. "Before I needed guns or explosives to kill these guys, but now all I need is a knife infused with my aura, or so as I would call it", I said while looking at the corpses and then at the knife.

"Our aura, not yours", barked Zombo, "And I can't believe you obtained this after beating me".

"Let's say I go lucky then", I replied as I stood up and jumped down the pile, "In any case we should hurry before Rose finds out I'm gone".

Zombo kept silent for a while before saying, "You will regret this, Joe. You can't save her".

"I'll regret it more if I don't try", I replied while increasing my pace.

From what I noticed, my strength, speed and durability increased, as well as my healing factor. These were attributes I once shared with Zombo but now have full control over. The reason why I was out in the open was because I was heading for the Cathedral of Brasília, a place Ana really wanted to see when we were in the US. On the night I slept with Rose, I had a dream about her talking about it when we were at a carnival enjoying ourselves. I had woken up immediately and realized that she was there, waiting for me. There was still a chance she had the remaining samples of the cure left with her, making time of great essence to retrieve it as soon as possible. However, I wasn't going to endanger Rose this time, so I had to set this one out alone.

I arrived at the cathedral and stopped to witness its fallen beauty. Most of the glasses were broken to pieces, chairs and tables overturned or destroyed, and the mirror of Christ destroyed. There was a blood trail which lead to the extreme end. Even though Zombo informed me of her presence, I knew without a doubt that she was here.

Sitting on the large table and eating from the head of a recent human prey, she giggled when she caught sight of my presence. She drank the remaining blood and threw the head towards me. It landed right in front of me, the head of a middle-aged woman with the nose and part of the left side of the brain gone. I scoffed at it and then looked at her laughing hysterically.

"I can remember her wonderful screams as she watched me feast on her, alive and whole", Ana remarked while licking her fingers, "She was a fine breakfast".

I said nothing while still staring at her, which irritated her. "Are you not going to say anything Joe?".

"You are not Ana", I replied boldly, "But a monster within".

She paused before saying, "You have one too, you know. A very unique aberrant, who was born from your hatred towards my kind".

"Your kind?".

"Indeed. You humans are fleeting files with short lifespan. From your mistakes we were born, to amend those mistakes by cleaning you off the face of the Earth".

"Is that what he told you?".

"Indeed, but he is cruel. He tortured us, stole our free will, and rules us as his slaves. But he is a god who will forgive us our sins if the humans cease to exist. Then there are those with specific tasks that will grant them immediate freedom, like me, who will today have your head", she replied while pointing her right index finger at me.
