Author's note: This short story was inspired by a local short film I saw when I was in college. My apologies for the grammatical mistakes.
Lisa's POV
I am currently staring at the large wall clock in our working area, waiting for the long hand to strike at twelve and the short hand at six so I can go home and rest after 4 consecutive days of very stressful long hours.
Tomorrow is Friday and I'm planning to sleep all weekend.
"I still wonder why NASA has stopped exploring our ocean waters and if there will be a fight between a Megalodon and a Kraken, who will win?"
"If octopuses have 3 hearts, do all three of them get broken at the same time?"
"If eggs came from chickens, how did the first chicken exist? If it's an egg form, who sat on the egg?"
My mind wanders again with unnecessary thoughts but it was suddenly cut off by my best friend.
"What are you thinking?" Seulgi asked.
"I'm just wondering why two supposed-to-be comic artists like us ended up working in an advertising company."
Seulgi: Did my dad talk to you about convincing us to join his firm again? That man, ai jinjja!
"What? No, he didn't—"
I couldn't finish my sentence when I suddenly heard a sweet voice of a woman.
"Bye, Lisa. See you tomorrow."
My eyes suddenly shifted to the gorgeous woman flashing her ethereal smile at me as she is now walking away and headed toward the exit. I didn't even notice that office hours are finally over.
A few minutes ago, all I thought about was going home. But now—
"She even said see you tomorrow." I thought to myself.
That gorgeous woman is Joohyun Bae. She's the head of the brand strategy team and just arrived in our company 4 years ago.
