Narrator's POV7-year old Lisa and her 9-year old stepsister Jisoo, attended a party. It was a birthday party for Jisoo's cousin that both of their parents asked them to attend since Jisoo's aunt and uncle are close to their parents.
All adults at the party are having some conversations in the corner while the children are busy running around, eating, playing and some are busy making fun of the party mascot. The party mascot suddenly asked the participating children to group themselves with 5 members each.
All the children at the center immediately formed a group and the two sisters were left behind hand in hand with each other. They are confused about what to do and if there is still a group that needs to be complete. Suddenly, Lisa felt her sister's hand slipping away from her hand when someone pulled Jisoo to their group to complete their five-member group, leaving Lisa alone.
With that, Lisa had no choice but to just sit on one of the party tables and watch the other kids and her sister participate in the game. Lisa felt hurt because even in school, she's always the last person to be chosen or sometimes, not to be chosen at all. That's the reason why she hates it whenever there's a grouping activity that can freely choose its members instead of assigning the members by the person in charge. She was always left out.
She tried her hardest not to cry because for her, it's embarrassing to cry in front of other people. Even at a young age, she doesn't want to show her weakness to others. Even though she is hurting from being left behind again, she always held her head up high. She tried to be strong as much as possible even if it's only on the outside.
She watched the kids play the game that the party mascot created but a single tear has escaped from her eyes so she quickly wiped it as if nothing happened. Little did she know, the girl sitting beside her saw it.
Lisa felt a gentle tap on her shoulder and she was surprised by the presence of the girl. She was way preoccupied by the sadness she was feeling that she didn't notice the girl she was sharing a table with. Lisa looked at her with a confused look on her face as the girl just stared at her while hugging a bunny stuffed toy.
The girl suddenly held one of the legs of her stuffed toy and tried to rip it. That made Lisa even more confused or if I must say, scared of the girl's weird action. When the girl successfully ripped the other foot, she handed it over to Lisa but she just looked at her.
Lisa didn't know what to do. She thinks the girl is weird and that's the reason why she's sitting in the corner being left out just like her.
"My mom told me that a rabbit's foot brings good luck." The girl suddenly said but her facial expression is somewhat too serious or to put it better, somewhat expressionless.
Lisa noticed the different accent that the girl had. If she didn't pay close attention to what the girl had said, she might have not understood it.
Lisa slowly reached the rabbit's foot from the girl and when she was about to say thank you to the girl, the girl was suddenly called by her mother leaving Lisa alone on the table. A moment ago, Lisa felt sad but after the weird girl's gesture, the sadness was lessened. Yes, the sadness was still there but the most important thing she felt was that she wasn't alone anymore because of the girl.
She looked at the rabbit's foot on her hand and her lips finally formed a smile.
"Thank you."

Lisa's POV
It's already 11:30 in the evening and I am on my way to my assigned dorm room and I am nervous as fuck. This is the first time I will be sharing a room with someone who is not my step sister. Let alone, a stranger.
